[Charts+sales] A BEST 2 -- THREAD II

This is falling really fast. Best albums are supposed to have longevity, but it doesn't look like this one will

Hmmmn... do you see most 2007 best albums don't have longevity?? A BEST 2, kuu's B&L, and Ai-chan's Ai am BEST.

I really wonder why..

Man...if Ayumi released Secret in the same year, she'd have 3 albums on the chart. haha.

Anyway...I wish that she would've separated the two Bests for different months. Considering a fan only has so much money...46 dollars? I mean...yeah.

So 1.x million is very good. Though individually, it is not.

Well Ai am BEST did have pretty good 2nd week sales. (I think it was higher than A BEST 2's).

I think bluegie was comparing 07's bests with '06's. After all, most of the Best albums last year that dominated the yearly chart sold quite a bit higher than the artists' studi albums. none of the best albums this year form big artists are following that pattern.

^That's true. So far, 2007-released BESTs aren't doing extremely well as 2006 BESTs. Nevertheless, I think Ai am BEST will have pretty good longevity.

Well...I guess if kuu's album wasn't limited version,it would have sold a lot...sorry I'm not defending kuu..and I'm a ayu and kuu fan(and i love ayu more!^^).And probably that most of the pp had already downloaded the songs through their cellphone(their cellphone are super advance and cheap i can say?),computer etc.And therefore not much people would want to buy albums nowadays.Somemore it's a best album so lots of pp had already had most of the songs.

it is simply amazing how people always make up some story just to ignore a decrease in popularity which is reflected in cd sales. besides, I think people are just fed up with bests rolling out like there's no tomorrow.

and about kuu's best... it was changed to time-limited, that means still 7326417836437815 people could have bought it between march and may. but they just don't do...
considering the lag of new material and the over-stressed BEST-formula it still sells quite well.

Kuu's CD wouldn't have done better if it wasn't limited. It was a rare release, yet less than half of its copies were sold in the first week. If people wanted it, it would've sold most of its copies long ago.

Hmm...has an album broke 1 million yet? I looked up koda kumi...but oricon only has it up to about 9xx,xxx. not even a million!

Mr Children's HOME just breaks a million this week... and that's the only album so far selling over a million this year...

I think the main reason she didn't sell fantastically (and I'm not making this up) is because she is so well known in Japan, I think a lot of Music fans have all her music, and there would be no use to get this "BEST". On the other hand, A BEST (Her first one) sold a lot because she hadn't released that many albums, and she was starting to become popular then, and I guess word of mouth went around that she's there, and that's why people bought it.

I find your comment pretty true x2 ^_^.
I still think A BEST 2 albums did great, considered in sales falling ayu's sales from Secret stayed the same and A BEST 2 -WHITE- already outsold it.
But without outselling standarts issues, the fact that A BEST 2 still sold more than 600,000 is really hugely remarkable and combined avex & ayu gained more than a 1,300,000 copies sales just with those albums.
