I recently wikied Ayu and this is what i get...

The ayu (or sweetfish; Plecoglossus altivelis) is an amphidromous fish, the only species in its genus, Plecoglossus Temminck & Schlegel, 1846, and in family Plecoglossidae (order Osmeriformes). Native to the Palearctic ecozone, it occurs in rivers, lakes, and coastal waters of northern Hokkaido in Japan, the Korean Peninsula, China, and Taiwan.

...so should I continue to call Ayu by Ayu???

Ayu is a shortended version of her name which is by coincidence a fish

Unless you'll always think of something wet and slippery when you say Ayu I think you should keep on calling her that .

Oh sorry there was already a topic about it... I searched "Ayu fish" before posting and there wasn't a thread similar to what I had in mind... Maybe I should had a more thorough check
