「Days」 DISCUSSION!

I just had to make a topic for this. Days is exactly what I have been waiting for - a proper WINTER MID-TEMPO POP BALLAD! Woo-hoo, when Ayu said it came from "God" she must have meant that God sent her a gift for ME! I LOVE the instrumentation and how it's just SO X'MASY! I keep playing it over and over but I have to stop myself now. Ha ha. I cannot wait for this. It's gonna be GRAND!

I think that Ayu will performe Days on best artist, kohaku and other shows. It's good winter ballad

It may be just the quality... It may just be the newness... But something feels off... It's sorta like she's just... singing. There's nothing really deeper than that. It's probably the quality though, I bet it'll sound better HQ.

I think I prefer it to GREEN already...Don't get me wrong, GREEN is good, but it just hasn't stuck in my head like Days has already. Reminds me of MY STORY ballads I think.

I think it sounds really nice and different from all of her other winter ballads. A semi-predictable melody that emphasizes the lyrics (much like traditional Christmas music) and a smart arrangement that uses bells and chimes is perfect for a single being released close to Christmas.

It's definitely a cousin of Close to you, I'd say. Not as slow and a little more upbeat.

This just might be the single people have been waiting for since HEAVEN came out.

I don't like at all Days' extract, it sounds like a Kumi's ballad ! (so a boring ballad)
I'm very dissapointed (the first time for a single's song!), GREEN is so great, it's too bad for this new single....maybe the full song will be a little bit better but I don't believe in it....

BEAUTIFUL to describe it in one words.

It's wintery, christmasy mid-tempo ballad and it sounds simply beautiful.

Now I understand what ayu meant when she wrote that it's like god came down and helped her making this song

Didn't like it too much. It sounds so bland and generic. I really disliked CAROLS too, and it reminds me of that one.
And why do people keep saying "Oooh, it sounds so different from anything else she has done" Because it doesn't... It sounds just like any other generic mediocre pop-ballad she's made, just added bells and chimes... Oh wait, Close To You already has that.

I agree! I like Close to you but not many other people seem to. This sounds like a normal Ayu ballad but there is something else in it I can't place. It sounds really warm...like she will smile when she sings it?

I don't normally post this much >.< I just am really excited about this song! Maybe exaggerated by not being as wowed by GREEN as most other people are

I agree. It sounds like a happier version of stay with me. Hopefully though the full version of the song will be better. <3

And I agree with GRACE that it just sounds like she's singing and there's nothing deeper going on. -_-

Different ?? I'm not so sure...
Listen arrangements, it's HAL and reminds me Momentum, Labyrinth, rebirth ect...ect... Ok it's pretty, it's cut bla bla but no inovation it's typical Ayu's song. Sooooooo boring.

Wait & see for the full song.

From what I can hear it seems really poor... I agree it sounds so bland. A generic boring ballad... Even Life seems more original (I didn't think I would say that someday -_-").
It seems like a copy/paste of untitled -for her- which was not that great but quite particular as regards its context...
Maybe the full song will turn out to be surprising... but I don't want to hope that much.

Warm and touching are exactly the feelings it gives me.

I think I'll definitely like it. The melody is extremely commonplace, but I think the nostalgic effect it has had on me so far is really brilliant. It's very ASFXX-era-like, in the sense that the chorus doesn't sound extremely thickened out with background vocals and it doesn't have that repetitive melody that reeks immediately of Tetsuya Yukumi (although it still could be his composition). And yeah, it's completely obvious that HAL arranged this. Though I would not compare it to momentum at all. momentum was not very warming, nor laid back.

I really like it! It just sounds very reminiscent and nostalgic! It's a really sweet melody!! I actually prefer this to GREEN just because I'm a sucker for winter sounding ballads makes me feel all warm inside lol

I hated CAROLS when it came out and this is nothing like that. CAROLS was boring (now I have grown to accept it) and this one just seems so full of happiness, warmth and love. It does remind me of Yume no Uta a little, but that song was super great and I always thought "Why can't Ayu make a winter ballad like this~?" Lol. I'm really happy for this and I actually have that feeling in the pit of my stomach that I haven't had for a while regarding an Ayu release! BETTER THAN GREEN. Lol. This one is so mainstream winter and I love it. Lol.

Agreed 100%. I get angered by the thick background vocals all the time. I just want Ayu's voice pure and simple.
As for momentum, it had a colder and lonelier feeling.
