Sparkle. She's so sexy in the vid. But the sexiness didn't appear as she has small body. I don't want my friend to watch the vid. but I'll be glad if they hear it as the song the best for me.

Well, I'd only have one person to be embarrassed for... the only other person in real life that I know who listens to Ayu. And she's.... a ballad lover. She's into the heavier songs, kind of.

So in this case, Sparkle (especially since I was on rant for weeks about how I hated NEXT LEVEL and it was too different ^.^;;; then I took a 360...), mainly. Because it's what I was going against in Ayu's music: something really upbeat that seemed like.... it was to appeal to the younger crowds. And because she's really into the ballads, as I said.

STEP you, Ladies Night, and... HONEY. I just recently started to like HONEY, and it's not too well-liked because of it's extreme bubbliness and stuff.... >_< And the extreme cutsiness of the performances of it. I'm embarrassed to admit that at all... >o<

I never found the beginning of I am... embarrassing...It would never have occured to me...

For me, probably some of her more cutesy summer songs, like BLUE BIRD. Or some of her early, squeaky stuff.

^ Maybe it's because of the weirdness Ayu's voice kind of takes on in that little rap/a cappella. Towards the end of it, when the music's about to start. I know for a while I wouldn't bother with I am... because of the weird way Ayu sounded in the opening bit. ^.^;;

it makes me feel weird, since non of my friends listen to japanese music, they all of a sudden hear "chanto kiitete tsutawaru...." and you hear the long hold out "koko ni iru noooooooo oooooooooooooo" kind of akward to be sitting there with that playing.

I feel embarassed to love her female songs. I'm a guy so singing "a woman never runs away, a woman never hides away" is kind of embarrasing to me. especially since real me is one of my favorite songs. and other female songs like step you or ladies night.

Whenever I sing along/outloud, cause I'm bored or something, I always change the lyrics to "watashi" instead of "atashi" in case it just so happens that I'm infront of someone who speaks fluent japanese and they think I'm the weirdest person ever since I'm a guy.

Exactly. That weird "oooooooo" part is what always made me.... embarrassed to play it, and what kept me from hearing the whole song through for I dunno how long. I admit it's awesome, but it's a bit weird.

Just like Bold & Delicious. I don't -dare- play it around anyone who thinks I'm crazy enough for listening to J-Pop. The yayayayay gagagaga dadada wowowowo thing would just... yeah. Be the icing on the cake that is my "insanity" for loving J-Pop.

^lol people just don't understand. fsr people in my school can't connect 1 and 2 together. that it is indeed possible for an american, who does not speak japanese to like, and listen to japanese music. They think it's weird since I'm not japanese and don't speak japanese. Ignorant people. >.>

It's kind of embarrasing for me to listen to any music. around my friends I don't care, but in public, I don't dare talk about japanese music, put me on the spot, make people think I'm a weirdo. XD

^Exactly! >_< That's exactly the reaction I get. "You don't speak it fluently, do you?" Me: >.> "Well why are you listening to it?!" And stuff like that. And because I'm an American girl, sixteen years old who should be into Lady GaGa and Britney Spears like other normal high school girls. Psh. As if. I like them, but I like other things too. Like... I don't know how many times I've been asked "Do you understand the lyrics?". Yes, I can if I read translations enough times.... but is it that bad? I've known some people who listen to French music just cuz they think it's sexy.... So I'm bad for listening to J-Pop?

Meh. Ignorance, as you say. >_< And yeah, though I may not care too much what they have to say and bash about, there are just some songs I don't think I should let my anti-foreign-music friends hear. Only sometimes do people think it's cool of me to listen to Japanese music, but they're usually adults. And cultured. (definitely not my parents though.)

Anyhow... I think it all boils down to not being embarrassed to love them.... but embarrassed to admit to loving them in front of friends, or.... listening to them in public. I would stand up for these crazy songs I love in a heartbeat... but only after my face would stop blushing.

Glitter? I would never think glitter to be embarrassing... Funny, my friend and I love this song. It's kind of like... our happy anthem. xD (this is my friend who likes J-Pop too, my only real life friend who does) We'll just burst out in "No no no!" randomly sometimes....Maybe people are right in thinking I'm crazy for liking J-Pop.

Same here. And then they say them really loud, and people just look at you and your iPod.... Makes me feel like even more of a weirdo. One time on the bus, going home from school, my friend and I were listening to my iPod, and at the time I was trying out Aira Mitsuki... she said "Barbie Barbie" so loud I thought the whole bus would hear. Embarrassing since it's the name of a doll.

Just glad she didn't get the chance to see Bold & Delicious. (but she did see Eat You Up and wouldn't stop saying how dirty that sounded...)

Song titles and how they sound can be equally embarrassing sometimes. >_< Bold & Delicious... name and the intro scat are very embarrassing. >_<

EDIT: I thought of another one. I used to love Real me, so much.... but I was so embarrassed to love it because of the Engrish, and because so many fans really dislike it because of that, and because Ayu was singing in English so much. >o< I'm embarrassed for a non J-pop listener to hear it because of that bad English.... >_<

I'm not embarrassed by any of them! All of her songs are special to me and I love all of them. Some more than others, but I'm not embarrassed by any of them! ^.^

@Real me: I think Ayu's English in "Real me" is REALLY good! I mean, for a Japanese person she speaks/sings in English really well! Nothing to be embarrassed about, in my eyes!
