As silly as that DVD release is...I have to say "omoide ni naru no?" is a great song, and the PV is awesome too. I am hoping the album surprises me in a good way.

Maybe the ninki rating is #8...but that doesn't reflect sales or official chart positions, she hasn't reached the official top 30 even...

Yeah...
Thats my bad. I was looking at the NINKI ranking. :/ Apparently the single is doing REALLY well, but it's not charting. There's some controversy going on because of a concert thing... all the fans are pissed off about something. Not sure. |

Just in, Namitamaki73.net just discovered that Oricon isn't showing what the single has charted or sold because it's only an anticipation single for the album (it's not it's own single... its like an advertisement) but based on other charting sites the single has an average charting of #7 or #6 and has so far sold 30,000. Once the album is released, Omoide Ni Naru No? 's ranking will show on Oricon

what? that makes no sense. lots of artists release singles one or two weeks before an album. unless they are first debuting or are just completely unknown, the single could possibly not chart. but nami IS known, so the single has to be somewhere within the top 100 singles chart throughout each day. i don't believe that it hasn't charted at all.
the single will probably be off the chart once the album is released, since people will buy that and not a single. but not showing up because of an album being released one week later just dosen't make sense. edit: the single isn't on February 17th's chart. i can't find the full chart for the rest of the week, though. but it definately hasn't debuted within the top 10, 20, or 50 singles chart. it must be ranked somewhere pass #50. Spoiler:
and even though this single is used to promote the album, it's still a physical release. it's not just an advertisement, it's an actual CD single. so basically, either way, it's not doing well at all. it's doing horribly, unfortunately. Last edited by Beauty4123; 21st February 2010 at 03:44 AM. |

So today I'm gonna tell a little story...
2003, a new singer debuts with a tie-in to the successful Gundam SEED series. She releases a pop song with fast beats called Believe and immediately gains a fandom. In 2004 her debut album drops and it's fantastic. There's not a bad song on it. The name Nami Tamaki becomes a minor sensation. She rides the success of Gundam. This is how I found Nami. Then she released her masterpiece, Make Progress. "Holy **** she managed to surpass greetings, how is that even possible?" I thought. Make Progress is her best album, period, she's never surpassed it in my opinion. I played it so much I ruined my disc, that's how good it was. Then Specialty came out. It was alright, it had some stellar singles, and some really good album tracks. Didn't surpass Make Progress, but it was still really good. Don't stay followed, and it was alright. Nothing bad by any means, but it's single tracks definitely outshined the album tracks. Whiiiich brings us to that OTHER album. I recently listened to STEP. I've never seen an artist's music decay so much. I mean JESUS. How do you go from making songs as amazing as Believe to songs as ****** as every song on this album. My GOD. First of all, there are like eight million ballads. The Nami Tamaki I know didn't have so many ballads, and so many bland generic trashy ballads at that. Hell, we all freaked out when Promise came out, cause it was like her first real ballad. And the tracks that are actually upbeat have no PUNCH to them. Her old songs used to be really slick and powerful. I'm sorry, but STEP can ****ing step. Give me greetings. Give me Make Progress. Give me Speciality. Give me Don't stay. Keep STEP in the garbage heap where it belongs. I'm so over you Nami Tamaki. and it REALLY makes me depressed. You were the first Jpop singer I really liked. And yet you decided to make crap like this. I hope you flop and fizzle out. I'd rather your career die then for you to make **** like this again.
