I find it strange how people put so high expectations when it comes to song titles o.o

NEXT LEVEL doesn't deserve for this title imo xD even though I love the song.
No way to say - title sounds simple, but very mysterious and beautiful; lyrics are also fantastic. But song itself... is very typical, boring winter ballad.
The Judgement Day and reBiRTH - disappointed me as interludes with great names, but bland sounding.
part of Me - I was expecting epic, emotional ballad, but it sounded for me like many previous songs put into one.
ANGEL'S SONG - I just didn't know it's pop song. xD

NEXT LEVEL, momentum, Last Links, THE introduction.

I wanted montage, The Judgement Day, and disco-munication to be full songs.

The only one I can think of is "NEXT LEVEL." I actually love the song, but I was very surprised when I heard the preview from that commerical it was featured in. Given the rock sound from "Rule" and the fresh feel of "Sparkle," when the title NEXT LEVEL came out I thought it would be something "new" sounding. (Actually, very similar to "Disco-munication" and "rollin'." Just something more trance-y like the other songs on the album, lol.) But when I heard it and got that calm, laid-back summer feel, I was quite surprised.

But I wasn't entirely disappointed, and I definitely don't NOT love the song now! In fact, it's probably one of my favorites!

I really wanted those to be full songs! their names are cool
I recommend downloading the AYU-MI-X VI -BLUE- album, there's a 5 minute version of "Not yet". It's a fanmade remix, but it sounds like a professionel Avex remix and since "Not yet" sounds like a remix already as original mix, it might be a perfect remix for you.

I think, "NEXT LEVEL" was a pretty good song, because I don't know any Ayu song that is similar to it. "NEXT LEVEL" as album did sound very different from any previous album of Ayu, anyway. At least in my opinion.

My comment to the topic:

I was disappointed from the title "Rock'n'Roll Circus". I thought and hoped the album would be a mix of Rock/musical/trance-like songs, a really crazy mix of attractions like you see them on a real circus. Instead we got like four or five ballads, some disco-songs and mediocre interludes (except of "montage" which is actually the sound, I wished the whole album would sound alike!)

Just reBIRTH and GUILTY for me.
reBIRTH its pretty generic as interlude, I was expecting something epic like The Judgment Day lol.
GUILTY sounds too much like What I've Done by Linkin Park imo, I have high expectation to album-title track and GUILTY disappoint me :|

NEXT LEVEL-Thought it would be more Rock-ish..
BALLAD-Thought it should be different genre instead of ballad...
The Judgement Day- I thought it's a full song *sigh*

Next Level. when i think of that i think of something greater, like she's ready to take an unexpected turn in her music career and she's ready for the next big step in her life. A new chapter has begun in the story of ayumi hamasaki. "She's ready for the next level." and then we get some rehashed "typical summer ayu song". while the video consists of nothing but her driving. the album isn't even consistent. with the cover and a few of the songs like discomunication, energize, identity, and rollin, you think we were going to get some 80s, 16-bit video game, electronic album, but then she throws in bridge to the sky, days, curtain call, next level, green, love n hate, and rule and its like wtf?

The fact that basically all of her songs are titled in English and consist of random phrasing and single words I pretty much have no expectations for how each title will be expressed musically. One of the many things that I've learned about Ayu is that although some of her songs may be predictable, the titles never are.
