Avex forms new girl group: SUPER GIRLS

Avex forms new girl group: SUPER GIRLS
TucTo on Monday, June 14, 2010 3:00AM

Avex Entertainment recently wrapped up its 2010 Idol Audition. What started with over 7,000 hopeful applicants was narrowed down to just twenty-four girls. That number was split in half, as twelve of these girls were selected to be in a new girl group: SUPER GIRLS.
The names and ages of the twelve members are as follows:

* Saori Yasaka (21)
* Kaede Kano (17)
* Eri Akita (17)
* Rina Miyazaki (16)
* Mirei Tanaka (13)
* Ruka Mizote (13)
* Hikaru Watanabe (16)
* Aya Goto (13)
* Reira Arai (15)
* Ami Maeshima (12)
* Rika Shimura (17)
* Rino Katsuta (15)

At a recent PR event, the girls expressed their hopes of surpassing popular idol groups such as AKB48. Those are some big shoes to fill, girls. We’ll see what they’ve got to offer later this summer. The group is set to debut on August 7th.

So… Anybody else think that 12 is an outrageous age to be debuting in an idol group? I cannot even begin to imagine the number of pedophiles that are going to be attracted to this group. Oh dear…

Source: TOKYOGRAPH

Wow...I just...all these groups. @_@ There are some pretty young members in this group...12 and 13? Too young you think? I dunno, I have mixed feelings.

Oh god. Jumping on the bandwagon, I see.

I can only dread the day Girl Groups take the lead. I'd rather have the current boy band reign than a girl group reign.

they aren't as young as TOKYO GIRLS STYLE, so that's a relief, lol. i'll probably look into this group in the future, once they make their debut.

btw, their just making their debut at a-nation on august 7th. it's not a CD release or anything

I'll try them out but...I like Cute the best and personally hate groups with so many members >< Can't keep track of them all. Cute is my only exception...

Oh, I thought they were saying it was going to be an official physical release debut. We'll have to see how they do up there on stage for the first time . I'll follow them.

UUuhh... what? 12-13?? That's a bit young...

And I really don't see what's up with groups that have more than 5-6 members... it's just too much after that...

12 and 13? Wow, they are young!

Seems like Avex is trying to create a japanese version of Super Junior, but with girls.

But I don't really like japanese girlgroups... let's see, maybe I'll like them...

Well, 12 and 13 isn't a first timer. I think SPEED was that young when they debuted.

Still, you should be in school at that age and worry about having enough fun in life, not starting your career XD

12-13 isn't that bad. Lots of Hello! Project girls have made debuts at that age and younger. And I mean, then there's Ojousama.

Still, a potential Momusu-esque Idol group with the backing power of avex? Sounds awesome~

I know, it's overwhelming to have so many girls in one group. @_@ I don't like very many girl groups to begin with, so I'm hoping this group is okay at least.

Tokyo Girl Generation.....epic fail.

Now this? Get over it avex. You're not meant to make hit idol groups.

Oh god...I can't stand these kind of acts. I tried so hard to get into Morning Musume, but I just couldn't get into their music...it just seemed way too silly.

I don't know once the group hits five members, I think that should be it. Anything after that just seems like a crowd .

O.O I don't know if I'll follow them. I don't really like that kind of band. There are too many girls. But I'll surely give a try to their first song. I'll see after what I'll made.

i agree i doubt it will be a huge success unless they start making anime song and and reach otaku who will think that those girls are "moe "

maybe they are trying to create the next morning musume ...

honestly i rather have a boyband than a girlsband . i m not too crazy about little girls voices ...
and gosh ! 12 -13-15 no matter how talented its too young what are they thinking ?!

I'm just the opposite. I'm more of a girl band person. I just love female voices. I hate boybands so much. All their cheesy videos and lyrics about being this impossibly good boyfriend and 'love' and 'I'm so sorry'~ ugh. Gimme SNSD or a Hello!Project unit over a DBSK, Johnny's or whatever anyday.

I don't get the AKB48 fad though, they have like two or three good songs and the rest are absolutely dull. Same with Momosu. The only good Japanese idol units I can think of are the H!P kid units (C-ute and Berryz Koubou) and sub units (like Buono! and S/mileage).

Annnyyyways, I can totally see this group epically failing on the spot, lol. SUPER GIRLS? lol
