Agh Hikki needs to release something. But, she's the type of artist not to release something for the hell of it. Usually she comes back with AMAZINGNESS that makes it understandable she hadn't released something in 60 years (because it took that long to build up the epicness).

HS is something one could make after so long with mild epicness...i wouldnt describe it as epic but genius in hikkis way.

but an announcement like Nakcar would say. would be nice.

more than half of my fav artists including hikki are just frustrating me.

Agreed.
I didn't hate Exodus at all, so I expected This Is The One to be moderate at the least. Psh, the only songs I enjoyed were Apple and Cinnamon, This One (Crying Like A Child), and On and On. The rest of the songs were poo poo.

HEART STATION on the other hand.. Brilliant.

HEART STATION was bland and boring to me... It has some songs I love like PoL, Take 5, and Niji-iro BASU, but the rest of the songs were too "soft." I dunno. I still like the album, but it was a disappointment for me initially.

This Is The One, on the other hand, I loved. The only tracks I didn't really like were Automatic Part II and Taking My Money Back. I didn't like TMMB because it didn't feel like she wrote the lyrics. I know she writes "story" lyrics sometimes, like for example Hotel Lobby. But TMMB still didn't feel like she wrote it. And Automatic Part II, I didn't like it because I was expecting something that was a lot more an ode to the original Automatic.

The rest of TiTO though, I love, love, love. I mean, FYI is one of the best songs in her whole discography...!

I will never understand how TITO is much better than HS to anyone unless they love r&b or mainstream stuff or a lot of kpop. Its all the same to me in terms of decency.

Ah~ well. The wait continues. Hikki to release something. An cafe to come off of stupid haitus (or announce they're over)
But at least for hikki its looking brighter ^____^

hs will never be as epic as ub. all the songs on hs were really similar and kind of had an over all mellowness to it. i will never like tito over hs or exodus, but imo i can't ever really hate a hikki song. i don't think she really has a song that i won't listen to. i do have my faves and least faves, but even the songs i dislike the most by her, i can still sit through.

i loved exodus, the lyrics were crazy, the sounds were diverse, it was a bit weird but it was completely fresh and new. she seemed (in interviews) to be so proud of the work that she single handily did. although she had a bit of help from timbaland on one or two of the songs. where as with tito, it seems tricky and stewert really had a huge part on the making of the album. the lyrics didn't really feel like hers to me, and compared to exodus, tito didn't really feel like her album. and in interviews she seemed like "yeah...this is my album...i had help...woo." besides. the remixes suck, the only video it has sucks, the album artwork sucks, and if anything i would claim it to be her most generic (american pop wise) album she has to date. it seemed like she tried to hard to make it work in america. like instead of just ignoring what people think, she decided to follow the mainstream flow and force this album to sound too american.

Exodus was cool. Strange but cool

I feel like the lyrics were her. I try not to pin one personality on an artist. Tito"s lyrics were like another facet of her. Very dumbed down compared to UB however.

So I hope for that genius weird epicness with deeper lyric.lyrically there's a large diff between my fav song on UB and on TITO.

According to media, Hikaru Utada's parents have been divorcing for 7th time until now. Last year Hikaru Utada said when she was young she cried hearing her parents divorced. However, one month later, her mother said that they remarried again.

^^ i think that would be really traumatizing. . . .many of my friends have divorced parents. but they get married to someone else. not remarried to the same person 7 times.
