... yeah but isn't this how Japan's music industry has always been? When you're at the top, you sell a ton compared to everyone else.

We had a period here in the US like 10 years ago when the music scene was dominated by teeny boopers, boy bands, and girl bands most specifically, the Max Martin set and now they're like an endangered species. It's just one of those things. In probably 3-5 years time (probably even less than that), there'll be solo acts topping the yearly sales charts again while fans of groups will be mourning over the decline. That's how trends work, it's no big deal really.

THIS.

It was the same in Finland. Nowadays all the group sales are so low they only reach Top 40 when somewhere in the 90s they were in Top 10 with every release. And in Finland it's about 3 years before a artist on the top falls down and soemeone else takes the crown as the best artist/group ever to cross the earth lol. I'm sure it's the same kind of thing in Japan too. For what I have noticed, it's almost the same; a artist stays on the top for 3-5 years and then the sales starts to decline just like in Ayu's case for example. I'm pretty much sure the same decline will happen sooner or later, and then some lovely girls like Ayu and Kuu will dominate the charts once more <3

And with this post I don't want to say that I hate k-pop. Actually I'm pretty much lost my soul and heart to this wonderful music. I can see why they're so popular but I also see that it won't last that long since the music in some cases sounds the same, and even though I love bands like 4minute, I've noticed their songs isn't as original and different from each other as they should be. And still I'm addicted lol. :'D And when I'm addicted I listen to it for a while, get bored and then listen to J-pop. :p In the terms of originality I still prefer J-pop.

And now I'll stop this ******** before I repeat myself too much.
