Johnny’s announces Kis-My-Ft2 will make their CD debut this May

Kis-My-Ft2 will make their CD debut this May, it was revealed at their concert in Tokyo on February 12, reports Oricon.

The group has been signed to record company Avex, and embark on a national concert tour this summer which will also include performances of their upcoming debut single.

It has been reported their debut was kept a secret even to the members themselves until they received a letter during today’s concert. While the group were telling fans about their upcoming summer concert tour, a Johnny’s Jr. member handed over an envelope to them. Reading it, the group found out for the first time about their official debut and broke out in surprise and tears.

Kis-My-Ft2 is made up of Hiromitsu Kitayama (KI), Kento Senga (S), Toshiya Miyata (M), Wataru Yokoh (Y), Taisuke Fujigaya (F), Yuta Tamamori (T), and Takashi Nikaido (NI=2). Despite not having released any singles, the group already have a large number of followers, and had attracted close to 140,000 fans to their spring concert tour in 2010.

Since December 28 to today the group have been on tour. Group members Fujigaya and Kitayama are currently starring in TV drama “美咲ナンバーワン!! (Misaki Number One!!)”, and will also take part in the Pattaya International Music Festival in Thailand on March 18, while the other five members will be starring in Hideaki Takizawa’s upcoming stage show “滝沢歌舞伎 (Takizawa Kabuki)”.

I'm quite interested for Kis-My-Ft2 to debut - now all we need to wait is three months!

I'm happy for Kisumai's long awaited debut but on the other hand , I'm worried on the way how avex's going to market them because they're now label mates with V6 and Tackey & Tsubasa

avex doesn't really market/promote the Johnny's well imo & I feel Kisumai should have been signed to J-One Records or JStorm as both labels's marketing/promotion tactics are much more better

but hopefully avex will prove me wrong on this & I'm very excited for Kisumai's CD debut

Yeah, I'm kind of quite surprised that they're going to be on the label that V6, T&T and even Ayu is on.

label doesn't really matter. they just distribute the singles, albums, and DVDs. everything else comes down to JE. T&T "failed" because JE, not because they're on the avex label.

but i am very excited for their debut. it's very well deserved!

Daily Sports and Sankei Sports have reported the envelope Kitayama had opened in the middle of the group’s concert contained a slip of white paper with a handwritten message in red: “CD debut this summer.”

Although the members who had been surrounding Kitayama froze for a moment, they soon exploded in celebration. Kitayama started running around, Yuta Tamamori (20) started hugging his group members, while Toshiya Miyata (22) shed a tear.

The 13,000 fans in the crowd also erupted in cheers and tears.

what part of everything is dictated by JE don't you understand, bro? JE chose avex for them. i don't even think they have a say in anything label related.

It sure is the mark of a new era of Kis-My-Ft2! Now what will they release...should it be a single, or should it be a starter album? Some people might want to say for a single, as it's typical for debut releases, though some wants an album with the scale of fans...

They might be the next Arashi or KAT-TUN!

yes & everything at the end of the day still ties in with Johnny's & Associates

record labels are only there to distribute so & so's material for the Johnny's

I'm waiting to see Kisumai's name appear on Johnny's Net , it wouldn't be long before it happens !

So happy about it, too! I was at the concert when it happened so this group will jump to the top of my favorite Johnny's list.

Toda Eriko (the head teacher in Misaki No.1) even blogged a photo of the cast (including Kitayama & Fujigaya) milling around set during the earthquake because it happened when they were filming. They're fine.

Marching J’s second activity to be a baseball game at Tokyo Dome



“Marching J“, which is a disaster relief project of Johnny & Associates, will be holding a charity baseball game at Tokyo Dome on May 29th.

As we reported previously, they held a fundraising event for three days in April, and the president of Johnny & Associates, Johnny Kitagawa, stated that he was planning to hold a charity event every month, with a part of the profit donated to disaster relief.

Now with the aftermaths of the earthquake, why is there no recent news of a new CD release??? They were supposed to this in May - but it could be pushed back all because of the earthquake!!! (Even I'm not hearing any new Arashi albums or singles...)

Kis-My-Ft2 debut to be delayed, debut single also changed

Popular Johnny’s group Kis-My-Ft2′s commercial debut will be delayed until this summer, it was revealed on May 9, reports Daily Sports Online and NEWS24.

It has been reported the main reason was because of the Tohoku earthquake, which had prompted their debut to be delayed. On top of this, Johnny’s & Associates president Johnny Kitagawa had asked the group’s debut single to be changed into a more positive and uplifting song to suit Japan’s current situation.

Group members Hiromitsu Kitayama and Taisuke Fujigaya made the announcement to their fans during their stage show “みんなクリエに来てクリエ! 2011 (Minna Crea ni Kite-crea! 2011)” in Tokyo.

Although their debut has been delayed, the two have promised that it will only unleash a larger amount of power.

“If we’re going to to do it, we want it to be the best. Fujigaya and I were saying that we wanted to become champions,” said Kitayama while Fujigaya nodded in agreement.

A representative from the group’s record company Avex has said Kis-My-Ft2 are currently recording the song, which is about 90 per cent finished. They had also added the song has been written in a way to cheer people up and make them courageous.

As well as this, the group will go on a national tour this summer. It has been reported group member Yuta Tamamori came on stage as a guest holding a letter from Mr Kitagawa. In the same way the group found out about their debut, the three members opened the envelope to find a letter saying they would be embarking on a 6-city tour starting on July 9.

“We seem to find out about things at the same time as you guys (fans) eh,” Fujigaya said.

A debut event is also scheduled to take place closer to the time.
