Some love for globe, YAY! FACES PLACES is definitely their best pre-trance album.

Feeling lazy, so I'll only post a list.

Ayumi Hamasaki - RAINBOW, (miss)understood, Love songs
Utada Hikaru - HEART STATION
globe - Lights, LEVEL 4
KOTOKO - Garasu no Kaze
Eiko Shimamiya - ULYSSES
Do As Infinity - EIGHT
Lia - enigmatic LIA 2

Whooo! Another globe fan!

I wasn't too happy with their whole trance-era but LEVEL 4 is easily one of their best albums

Thought of a few more:

X-Japan - Jealousy
--It's X-Japan... I don't need to explain this album. It's just perfection

Gackt - Mars
--He has never made anything that comes as close to this album. Even the filler tracks are amazing!

Judy and Mary - J.A.M. and Warp
--Their first album is so raw and full of such melodic songs it's impossible not to fall in love with it. And Warp (their last album) is unlike anything I've ever heard but it's certainly a unique experience

Shiina Ringo - Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana
--Big love for Shiina Ringo. I havent heard much of her recent stuff but this album always puts me in some sort of a trance. It's a beautiful experiment
