"Limited" covers always do tend to be better than a CD only, but there were really only a few exceptions to terrible CD only shots. IMO, (miss)understood's and Rock'n'Roll Circus' are the only ones that kind of stand out as 'not good'.

I guess the "CD only" rule normally applies to singles with a few exceptions.

Singles: CD only > CD+DVD
Albums: (Limited) > CD+DVD > CD only

Since we have three album editions this time with no limited options, I don't really know how they'll measure up to one another. It's CD+DVD/CD+2DVD/CD only so it could go either way! If there is a close up or a 1/4 body shot, the CD only is usually the most panned out-shot in her albums which people tend to like, I think.

This is true in pretty much all cases expect Love Songs imo.

There the CD only was waaaaaaay prettier than freaking CD+DVD. I love that little smile of hers. I had to buy the CD only because of the reason that the cover was so stunning.~ You would think Avex wants to do that all the time actually.
