Oh my God, these are seriously some of the best photos she's had in a LONG time haha... I want this photobook so bad ): I actually really like the PQ album photoshoot but I think the photos she took in Times Square would have been a lot better

As for the "orginal" PQ shoot pictures:
I don't know what I expected but I have to say I am a bit disappointed/unsatisfied with these pictures.
I mean, yes, she does look beautiful and the dresses and shooting locations are nice. There's nothing wrong with the aesthetics. But somehow those shots seem lifeless to me even when she's looking directly into the camera or has a smile on her face.
I can't even really explain it, it's just the feeling I get from the whole thing.
I do prefer the photos they used for the album booklet/cover in the end.

But I think the offshots are really interesting to see. And Timmy (it's him in the NY pictures, right?) looks like really confused.

Agreed, these photos are average. I really honestly prefer the FIVE and Party Queen photos. We've seen enough shoots of Ayu in big dresses and in front of big mansions

^^ I do agree too...um as much as i don't like the PQ covers I think they do fit the album, they fit it much better than these photos would. I mean the covers had a concept of some sort (or at least they managed to come up with it after people started questioning WTF?) . These would be just pretty shots used as covers...IMO these are much better on their own. And as much as i love these pics they don't really have anything special, tho they have a lot of going on in them visually, in other words they did a great job on putting everhthing together.

Are you saying they're average because she's done something like this before?
Anyway, I dig the dresses and such so I have no problem with her doing shoots like this. I prefer them, in fact lol. Not everyone does though apparently

I feel like we don't get the really REALLY unusual stuff from ayu much. So I guess I never expect it and so this photoshoot is great to me, and it is anyway to me regardless of my expectations lol

But omg, fake bald? I think with ayu's features and all, I'd like to see that. I'd be quite good with some more unusual stuff as long as it's executed well.

I totally agree! She looks pretty, classy, elegant.. and also dead, sometimes. I don't see her enjoying, only trying to look pretty, like if she were a sculpture. "Hamasaki Republic", for example, is the opposite: every pic has a different ayu. She looks expressive and natural in that photobook. Seeing her being beautiful (and nothing more) is.. quite boring. From all we've seen until now, I can only save 3 or 4 pics.

Imo, the whole "lifeless" part and statue feeling would fit the PQ concept way better than the actual PQ booklet. She looks more like the queen who is said in these dress photos than in the naked photos. But that might be just me feeling that about these two different shoots. Either way, if the dress shoot would have been the real cover I would have bought the album right away.

If you put it like that, you're right! Totally didn't think about that factor.
I wonder if they meant it to look like that.
Because if I look at this as a photoshoot for a photobook, apart from the PQ album concept, I stick to what I said before.
