In the music-DVD chart, five men rock band, UVERworld have reached the top spot with "UVERworld 2011 Premium LIVE on Xmas", making it their 3rd consecutive no.1 music-DVD since "UVERworld Video Complete -act.1- first 5 years", and 4th overall. This DVD was recorded from their Christmas live last year which was broadcasted to 62 theaters across Japan as well as theaters in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This DVD also includes footage of 11 tracks recorded at Zepp Tokyo in July last year, while in the limited edition, additional footage of 10 tracks at Zepp Sendai is included

UVERworld to provide theme song for Eikura Nana’s upcoming drama, ‘Kuro no Onna Kyoshi’

Rock band UVERworld has revealed that they will be releasing their new single, “THE OVER“, on August 29th!

This single has been picked up as the theme song for Eikura Nana’s upcoming drama, ‘Kuro no Onna Kyoshi‘. For its coupling track, the single will include “MASSIVE“, a song that’s already been performed during the band’s concerts.

UVERworld worked on this song when they had time to spare from their nationwide tour. Regarding the song-making process, TAKUYA∞ (Vo) commented, “We rented a studio in the countryside and wrote the lyrics. In Niigata, we looked for a place to sing, but couldn’t find one. So we rented a house and recorded the song.”

Meanwhile, Shintaro (Dr) revealed, “We finished recording at one point, but we reconsidered the formation and theme, and had to record it again. It was a last-minute process, but we were able to settle down in a good direction.”

As UVERworld celebrated their 7th year anniversary on July 6th, fans can look forward to a surprise from the members during the finale of their tour, which will be held on July 7th and 8th at Yokohama Arena.

‘Kuro no Onna Kyoshi’ will air on TBS every Friday at 10:00 pm.

UVERworld to release their documentary film, ‘THE SONG’

It’s been revealed that UVERworld’s documentary film, ‘THE SONG‘, will be released in theaters across Japan!

This was announced on July 7th during UVERworld’s concert at Yokohama Arena. A trailer for the movie was also revealed at this concert.

‘THE SONG’ will focus on UVERworld’s live concerts and what goes on behind the scene. It will feature footage of where the members first met, the town they lived in upon moving to Tokyo, and the benefactor who made their debut possible. It will also contain footage from their concert on April 25th at Saga B-FLAT as well as the members’ interviews.

The film will be directed by Nakamura Teppei, who has previously teamed up with UVERworld for their “BABY BORN & GO” and “KINJITO” PVs.

Advanced tickets will be available at participating theaters starting July 13th. Additionally, a total of seven different posters have been prepared for this film. One will be displayed at the theaters, while the others will be distributed at random to live venues.

UVERworld Announce First Arena Tour

This year in November, rock band UVERworld will be heading out on their very first arena tour throughout Japan, as it has been announced recently. On July 8th, UVERworld had just held their tour final at Yokohama Arena.

Starting on November 10th at Yoyogi National Stadium and finishing on December 22nd at the Fukuoka International Center, the tour will include eight performances total in five different venues. Ticket sales information and further details are to be announced soon.

On August 22nd, UVERworld's documentary movie "THE SONG" will also be release in Japan, closely followed by the new single "THE OVER" on August 29th! Hence there is a lot for UVERworld fans to expect this year!
