Well, not everyone is going to like the song. Personally, I love it. And if you haven't listened to the full song I suggest that you try it some time, not because I like it, but because sometimes the songs that you write off as total crap can surprise you.

Haha, ah my gosh, "ghetto" Kana. It's hard for me to imagine a ghetto home girl underneath that doll-like, petite facade but I'd like to imagine one exists. Not gonna lie, I laughed when I first heard candy and Come On Yes Yes Oh Yeah!! but now I like COYYOY!! and candy has its good moments. What other songs showcase "ghetto" Kana? I feel like she tries and fails at this.

She has the "ghetto" moments here and there which always turn me off (the bridge during 'Honey', the beat/flow of the verses during 'Secret'). And it's not always full on ghetto but most of her ballads are R&B ballads with the heavy claps and such (you know the general sound of an R&B influenced ballad) and that is why it took me so damn long to get into her. I think I tried her out 3 times before I actually fell in love after hearing Just the way you are and Secret after that.

I actually do think I did listen to the whole thing, wasn't it 'diddy-dum-diddy-dum' etc.? I know what you mean though, many of the songs I thought I disliked by Kana end up being my favorite. It's the weirdest thing, my favorites from a given single or album rotate and make a 180 with her more than any other artist I have ever listened to. What I hated/disliked becomes my favorite and my original favorite seems less appealing. I remember when Secret started out and the verse was too ghetto for me (urban electro) and I think I literally said out loud "Oh God no!" and shut it off. But in no time I ended up loving it more than Just the way you are even though Just the way you are was quite a strong obsession!
