Perfume got an invitation to attend “The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity”. This festival is world’s No.1 creative award and is known as the world cup of advertisement and communication! Perfume is the very first Japanese artist to be invited to this festival!

Congrates to Perfume, but I don't get why they are invited... I mean, they just sing the songs their producer gives them and their vocals are so heavily autotuned that it wouldn't matter if any other girl would sing instead. So maybe they should invite the producer...

I think it makes a little sense...I mean, if they had all of Nakata's productions to choose from, Perfume is the most prolific.

Why would anyone want to just see the producer? I'd rather see the three girls.

I think this article can give more insight as to why they're going for the Cannes Lions - the biggest advertising festival ever (it's kind of a dream of mine to be part of it some day )

It’s been announced today through the Official Perfume Website, and official Facebook/Twitter pages, that Perfume has been invited to the prestigious Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, that will take place in France from the 16th to the 22nd of June! The girls will be present on June 20th.

Well known creator Daito Manabe, part of the Rhizomatiks group and mind behind the holographic performances that we have seen last year, and also creator of the Perfume Global Website, will attend the event, talking about the technology involved for these creations and how it can be combined with entertainment, in this case, Perfume shows.

Of course, our girls will be present at the seminar and will take part to the presentation, ready to be introduced in front of many creators from all the world, which is definitely going to be amazing and exciting both for the girls and for all of us fans: Indeed, Perfume are the first Japanese artists to be invited at this prestigious event!

Also, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will be broadcasted through Mindshare and Youtube, and everyday a seminar wil be shown: To decide which one will be broadcasted worldwide, a poll has been opened on the official Festival website. To cast the right vote, just scroll down to the “June 20th” poll and choose the “Dentsu: Happy Hacking: Redefining the Co-creation Frontier” option: The voting is already open and will close on June 7th at 00:00 BST, and you can vote only once per day. The chosen seminars will be announced on the Cannes Lions website and YouTube Channel on June 10.

Hahaha, it's almost an insult for them to be invited. It is true though, those women are EXTREMELY well-marketed, heck, if their music was better I'd be a complete stan. They're so stylish and their performances are very captivating.
