I never heard "my sanctuary 'NOW'", but I thought the "-Ah" at the end of the word was just like added to draw out the word "sanctuary", not necessarily part of the word. Lol. I thought it was just added for effect as singers usually do.

Anyways, it does remind me of the case where Kumi's lyrics to "Lollipop" were revealed and everyone was all (O.o) about it.

Hmm, those lyrics actually sound pretty plausible now that I listen to the song again. I listened to her live performance of Sanctuary, and I can definitely hear her say those lines. We've been fooled all these years! hahaha

We weren't fooled. She just never released the official lyrics so we kind of had to just go by ear. Her voice is very soft and echo/reverb-y and it's kinda difficult to understand. Music will tie/music in time/music moon tide. Up until now we had no absolute way of knowing what she was saying.


I still can't believe it. It feels so weird. After all these years we now know what shes saying. Sanctuary first came out in 2006 and we thought we knew what the lyrics were for almost 9 years. Now to have that thrown out the window. lol I still can't believe what the actual lyrics are.

I definitely prefer the lyrics we heard by ear compared to what the official lyrics are.

you'd think it'd be a little different in this case though considering hikki is fluent in english lol And it was for a game with a full international release....and that the first one had the english lyrics in the booklet...I guess KH2 didn't?

I think it's either Music in Time or Music Inside for the lyrics. When I hear Moontide I think of werewolves and sparkling vampires, no thanks.

She's definitely saying "music, moon tide" in Sanctuary lol. Listen to Sanctuary (Ending) and you can very clearly hear "moon tide." She pronounces it very clearly.

I honestly think those "official" English lyrics are done by someone based on how the person hears them. They're totally inaccurate and wrong. They should ask Hikki how the lyrics actually are.

Someone else mentioned this and why they think it might be wrong, but then again Utada probably was high when she wrote it.

This changes everything for me. I actually like the official lyrics better. PS, Sanctuaria means 'sanctuaries' in Latin. I don't know if that has been said yet.
