Just to clarify to everyone because I just checked. The "original version" of immature on the concert tour 2000 vinyl record is the same thing as the ''JT Original CM Version'' on the appears single.

This year is my 11th anniversary of Ayu fandom and I'm finally booking flights to Japan. I'm going to see Ayu live close to the exact time when I first became her fan 11 years ago

I've had a lot of setbacks with my Japan trip in the past but we've now got flights booked. It's official and it feels so surreal.

I wish I could match songs and track names better, I have a lot of trouble remembering the song names but I know the tunes. I wonder if I'll be singing along or will be too awestruck to remember anyting

Hey guys I'm starting to sub Party queen album because I'm in love with this album and hope many more people could understand its true meanings more. I have a youtube channel that's for subbing only and I occassionally upload Ayu stuffs there but i can only upload concert vids, not vids with studio version of the song because well avex blocks them like usual lol.

So for the PQ vids I'll be uploading them on dailymotion. Never used it before but it works like magic.

Singing along is considered very impolite, unless Ayu herself asks you to. It's even stated in concert behavior rules on some Ayu fansite:-) I personally agree with that. I sing along only when Ayu asks or sometimes during remix interludes.
Congrats on your trip! Seeing Ayu live for the very first time will 100 % be a magical moment:-)

LOVE again is such a gem of an album. It didn't receive the love it deserved because of the mini albums commotion.

Today, once again, I ended up on the biggest black hole of the world (named youtube), listening a song from a singer called Genevieve. The cover of its album appears in the video, and I just couldn't stop thinking about RAINBOW cover.

Musically I don't find any resemblance, but in terms of color and composition, I think both covers are pretty similar. (In my opinion, at least!). I know that ayu wasn't the first musician using that kind of image, but it was inevitable for me not to think about her!

I've always been so disappointed with Ayu's making-of's. I always thought that they're supposed to really give you an in depth look at the creative process in one of her music videos.
I want to see alternate designs for costumes, and choreography practices in a dance studio if the song (real me, rule, inspire) has a dance routine, and the building of the set, and a conference of ayu and everyone sitting together discussing what they want to do for the video/like ideas getting tossed around and pictures and drawings being shared.

Instead most of the time we just get her playing around with her dogs and actually performing on a hot set. Like most of the time when they're showing her filming the video, the take they're showing is the take they use. Once in a while she throws us a bone by showing mess ups and unused takes (Carols), but I don't even bother watching them anymore. From what I've seen, it's the same routine. She walks onto the set in costume, they show her performing and acting, she takes a few breaks and watches the take on a camera, and then she walks off with a bouquet of flowers in her hands. The last making-of I saw was for the videos on Rock n Roll Circus and I kind of skimmed through the making-ofs for colours.

Ditto that. My favorite making-of ever is honestly probably "Melody" because it shows the set construction and how frustrating the sliding-floor mechanic got, and it's 10 full minutes of the actual process of making the video.

Some of the making-ofs give you one or two bits of info on the actual making/creation process (the CG in crossroad, the dress simplification in Curtain Call, the outtakes from CAROLS and XOXO), but we rarely see any exchanges of ideas or anything. These making-ofs act as though the video magically begins when Ayu walks onto the set.

I'm glad the NTV documentaries showed the "Fly high" PV planning meeting.

^Something else I forgot. Most of her making-ofs are only as long as the song. They play the instrumental and they show only as much footage as the they can fit into the song. Utada's making-ofs are like 10-20 minutes long. There's so much they can show us that they don't.

There's so much I want to know like what other costume ideas they had for Sparkle, and how they made the backdrop for part of Me. I also really want to see making-ofs for ourselves and forgiveness.

The only good Avex-made documentary that gives you a good insight is the 2007 tour DVD but they managed to mess that up by editing it into the actual concert. The NTV stuff is good.. she should do another special "Ayumi Hamasaki: Underperforming and Obscurity at 36"

Aah interesting I've never heard of this. Every concert I've been to has been full of people singing along or there are fan chants to call out

Japan is a whole different beast when it comes to concert etiquette, lol. Hope you have an amazing time!

It's not so weird if you think how polite and respectful Japanese are trying to be.
They come to concerts to listen to the SINGER, not to the fans' singing. Karaoke is their private spot where they don't disturb anyone.
