Also, sorry it took so long to respond... I got sidetracked and hadn't come on in a couple of weeks, but I did upload the album as you requested! I hope it works... I wasn't sure what to use to upload it since I never upload stuff... https://www.sendspace.com/file/fh35cg

I'm sorry to revive this thread with terrible news, but here goes...
![]() Mami Kawada is retiring from music. She announced the news at LisAni Live on January 24th, along with the announcement that she will be holding a final concert, titled MAMI KAWADA FINAL F∀N FESTIVAL "F", on May 21st. She also released her final single Contrail ~Kiseki~ this week, and commented in an announcement on BARKS that "she believes that this single is appropriate to be her last single because Contrail has both a refreshing and positive sound. She says that she was able to put her last message into the lyrics of both these songs. Her message combines both "sky" (Contrail) and "future" (Halfway). She hopes that everyone's future lies up in the sky." (Translation by Treize at I've Sound Forum) I hope there will still be some release celebrating Mami's awesome career and discography before she is gone for real, she deserves that much. Ugh. She was my second favourite I've singer, so I'm just...

Parablepsia is an awesome album and i was hoping that Mami will stay longer on the music scene but whatever. I am still holding on to Eiko Shimamiya even though she is not under I'VE as well

^ As far as I know, she (or any of the I've producers) hasn't given any specific statements in blog entries or interviews. If she has, no one has probably gotten their hands on those to get translations yet. Knowing how things went with MELL, and given that we're dealing with the music industry, we might never hear any specific reasons.

I certainly hope it's not some illness or any sort of the matter but even though MELL retired for health reasons it was just sort of like out of the blue or at least that's how I saw it. And I am still pissed how I'VE handled MELL's farewell release

Well that sucks. Mami's albums were some of my favorites out of all of the girls.

But yeah, MELL's case was even worse. She just disappeared after her album in 2010 and never came back, and then the lackluster best-of was released... Totally understandable to be pissed. While I really want one more best album from Mami to celebrate her awesomeness, I fear that it might turn out like MELL or KOTOKO's best-ofs, which, please no. Quote:

Thanks for clearing that up.
At least IVE sound actually succeeded in sending Mami off appropriately. I know that I sound like broken record considering how many times I have mentioned MELL's name in this thread but they really failed in terms of how they handled MELL's best of release. I know that MELL's songs are also scatered on different releases and OST's but was that really such a trouble to compile them like they did with Mami's songs? Thanks to Kacku he was kind enough to make a DL thread with MELL's songs I was able to listen some of MELL's works out of her own albums such as various I'VE mania and other OST's. Tragic indeed. I think that they also fumbled Eiko's best of as well. So many songs that deserved to be on that album aren't. What was the process of creating that tracklist like? Were they considering fan-favorites or her older songs? Oh well better something then nothing

![]() And to add to the old conversation: I agree with axmish87 above that Mami had an appropriate send-off, with a big farewell concert and a best-of that contained many of her best songs and was really worth buying. Some news: I've singers Yuzuno and Rina have released their first solo singles. Here are previews for the releases: I've is releasing the tenth GIRL's COMPILATION album, ALIVE, on July 28th. Here's the announcement with a tentative tracklist, I won't bother posting the tracklist here until it's finalised. I've produced two new songs for Ray's final best album, Happy days, which she recently released before retiring from music. The new songs are ♡こゆび姫♡ (Koyubi Hime) and マリンスノー (Marine Snow). You can download the album here, for example. In more loosely I've-related news: seiyuu-singer Yoshino Nanjo is releasing her third solo album on July 26th, and it features two songs with composition and lyrics from Mami Kawada and one song with lyrics from KOTOKO, and three songs on the album are arranged by Maiko Iuchi. KOTOKO and Maiko working with other singers is nothing new, but I believe this is the first time Mami has composed for other singers. I wonder if it also means she continues to work in songwriting even after retiring from her singing career. And finally, the news I'm most excited about: Eiko Shimamiya produced and released another mini-album this spring, but this time it wasn't completely limited to being released at M3! The album, Eko Parfait, the newest entry in the Eko series that started with Eko Tora in 2015, is available on Melon Books, and also available for us foreign fans via proxy shopping services! I bought the album and received it yesterday, and I love it. I posted a download link in the Eiko Shimamiya discography thread, please check it out and enjoy! I LOVE Eiko's songs Anunnaki and Tanjou, and from the songs sung by the other singers featured, I love Individual the most. But for me, the absolute hightlight of the album is Chikyuu. It gave me chills and tears from the first time I heard it. And the song is actually a cover, and Eiko's version was produced by Takeshi Saitou, the writer and original singer of the song! The original version is also wonderful, so please check it out (here's a preview of the studio version and here's a performance of the full song in an acoustic version)!

Here's your late reminder that the latest I've GIRL's COMPILATION album has been released! The album has been uploaded in many places on the internet (example 1, example 2), so go download and listen! And here are the covers and the finalised tracklist, just because I like to be thorough sometimes:
Spoiler:
I'm really impressed with all the new tracks made specially for this album: RINA sounds really good on Hierarchie, and she really elevates what is otherwise just another generic C.G mix song (seriously, when was the last time C.G mix produced anything worthy of anyone's time...); IKU brings the DRAMA on the title track, hits it out of the park with her singing, and definitively proves that she can do darker songs; but my favourite is easily Forever no End, which features a beautiful melody, a soaring, intensely catchy chorus, a perfect Tomoyuki Nakazawa pop production I just cannot get enough of, and a beautiful vocal performance by Riho, whom I really hope to see more of on future I've works. And honestly, I hope to see all three of these singers (and marriage blue, who does a lovely cover of Utsukushiku Ikitai on the limited CD) more, they really impressed me here and give me hope that I've will still be able to produce rewarding music even in their current, confusing, member-depleted state. As for the other songs: I really loved Aim ~we can do all to be fine~ and Wings of Courage -Sora wo Koete-, and found a bunch of the other songs nice, but this is not gonna go down as one of my favourite I've compilations. On the bonus disc with all the 2017 versions, I only really loved Utsukushiku Ikitai, and unfortunately thought all the other songs had some problems that kept them from being very remarkable (Around the mind sounds generic, and honestly the cheesy, outdated original version is better; Imaginary Affair either now has acoustic strings or the volume on the strings has just been turned way up, and it contributes nothing; INITIATIVE's arrangement has a dark undercurrent which doesn't suit the song AT ALL; Kiss the Future was never a good song in the first place, but this version might actually be better than the original; Bizarrerie Cage is good, I guess). --- And an even later notice: I've released a collaboration album with Key Sounds Label at the last winter Comiket, with I've singers covering Key classics and Key singers covering I've songs. You can download the album here, and, as discovered by MeltingCORE on I've Sound Forum, it's also available on iTunes! I heartily recommend checking the album out for three tracks in particular: RINA's version of Last regrets (RINA gives an awesome vocal performance, and Tomoyuki Nakazawa updates the song with a very modern arrangement that even features a pop drop that I actually like!), Airi Kirishima's take on Saya's song (NAMI turns the plodding ballad into a sorrowful dancefloor anthem, and it's amazing), and Lily on the FIeLD's (a.k.a. Riho's) cover of Aozora (the arrangement is honestly a bit dull, but Riho's voice is everything). Spoiler:
