Long post sorry!!!

I went to her Sunday concert and it was amazing, the only thing that I have to complain about is that she only spoke in Mandarin all throughout she only spoke a few words in English. I understand that she's a Mandarin singer but come on she was in USA, they of course know that not everyone that was going to her concert understood Mandarin. That's the only thing that I have to complain about.

The concert was 2 hours, 1am to 3am, I'm wondering why they chose that time. I sat next to the place where they did all of the sound stage stuff, not too far not to close. I took a few videos with my phone (they are a little bad quality), I'm going to upload them and link them here soon. I'm wasn't going to go to her concert but I thought who knows if she's ever going to come to USA and perform so close by me anytime soon (I live in New Jersey but I had to drive 2 hours to get to Atlantic City T.T) I know the last time she performed in USA was back in 2009 so I'm glad that I got to see her live for the first time. Thank you Linoa62 for announcing that she was going to be here, I'm surprised that her social media accounts didn't announced that she was coming here. I wouldn't even have known if you didn't say it here.

My favorite part was the end where she performed PLAY. She also performed a jazz version of Butterflies in my stomach, it was awesome.

Spoiler:
There was a moment where I burst into tears, they showed a little boys documentary named Yeh Yung Chih who was bullied in Junior High school just because he acted a little feminine. He was always bullied, kids would always pull his pants down to see his private parts just to see "if he was a real boy or not". One day he was found dead in the boys bathroom covered in blood, until now it's a mistery in what caused his death. The one thing that bothers people is the fact that the school didn't ever try to help the boy when he complained to them that he was being bullied. When he was found dead 3 teachers cleaned the blood up from the bathroom before calling the police. Some medical people say that he died from heart attack but many people say that he never had any illnesses and he was healthy so how could it be that he died from a heart attack.

Many people who see Jolin perform live in PLAY tour get so shocked when they see her male back up dancers, they might think it weird but they don't know that she's taking a stand for gay rights.

Concerts outside of Asia are unfortunately only targeting Chinese people who study there/people of Chinese descent. Marketing is mostly done by fanclubs and the organizer's Weibo/Facebook, and in Chinese only.
Jolin spoke only in Chinese because they were not expecting non-Chinese speaking people at all...
I got a feedback from someone who went on the first day about this:
Quote:
She did noticed that there were some non-Chinese people on the audience (including me, yay!), and asked us if we speak Chinese. Of course we said we don't, and she responded: "but you sing my music, right?". It was a funny moment, but that's the only english interaction we had all over the show.
The same thing happened at her London concert back in 2012, she only spoke in Mandarin.

I went on the organizer's site, and concerts by other C-Pop artists were also at that time... I wonder why as well.
Someone on Weibo said that he came all the way from Toronto to attend Jolin's concert o_O

And you're welcome ^^ I'm glad you were able to attend!!

The video you're referring to has been uploaded a few months ago on her YouTube channel.
During the Tour they aired 3 stories:
1st story

2nd story

2nd story's aftermath

The 3rd story was about a girl in a wheelchair, but it got deleted from her YouTube channel (maybe on the girl's/the girl's family request?).

By the way, can you please confirm the setlist I posted? It's very hard to get accurate setlists when she's touring outside of Asia

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the Mandarin names, like I know the English
name of the songs but not the Mandarin and I only took a few videos with my
cellphone.

I was watching my videos and your setlist through 1 to 10 is right.
PLAY was the last song.
Spoiler:
01. 美杜莎 Medusa
02. 大丈夫 Real Man
03. 美人計 Honey Trap
04. 愛無赦 Bravo lover
05. I'm Not Yours
06. 特務J Agent J
07. 花蝴蝶 Butterfly
08. Love Love Love
09. 布拉格廣場 Prague Square
10. 第三人稱 The Third Person And I

these are not in order but she did perform them
??. 大藝術家 The Great Artist
??七上八下 Butterflies in my stomach
??. Mr Q
??Miss Trouble
??野蠻遊戲 J-Game
??電話皇后 Phony Queen
??Dr. Jolin
??舞孃 Dancing Diva
PLAY我呸 PLAY this is the last song

I uploaded some pictures I took with my canon camera
THEY ARE A LITTLE BIG
http://imgur.com/a/3UYJg

And I uploaded the videos I took.
If you're wearing headphones, turn the volume down
In some videos it sounds like very strong wind but is the music that was super loud.

Wait, does that mean she scrapped the "Under the sea" part? (it contains 日不落 Sun Will Never Set, 無言以對 Nothing left to say, You Gotta Know and 野蠻遊戲 J-Game)

Thanks for the concert review, JackieRos The photos are great; I wish I could see her live as well.

Also Linoa62, it's a great first post to the thread. I can't believe how different Jolin looked in the late 90's/early 2000's!

Yeah I think so because Agent J was included with I'm not yours but
I don't have all of the songs on video so maybe she did sing them but in another order.

Sorry I can't be much of help with the set list.
