Not necessarily. Plenty of j-pop artists perform in halls like this all the time. Namie's shows for example are a far cry from classical music, but every time she does a hall tours she's playing at venues like this.

It does look like a nice hall. A hall does offer less space for the show but I wouldn't be disappointed seeing Ayu there.

I think halls like that have a more intimate feel than the arenas. And if you go to the ones outside the bigger cities, you have a better chance of seats closer to the stage if you buy via fan club.

The Gifu venue is down the road from my old apartment. It's 2 levels and holds a good amount of people, but all seats have a great view of the stage and theres room to jump around and such. I think most of the halls listed have a similar layout.

Do we know when the tickets for the second round of dates go on sale yet? They announced the dates a while ago it seems. Weird they haven't opened sales yet?
