I can't find any symbolism for "About you".... I don't think there's actually something in common between the PV and the lyrics.

I've never seen the full PV of Because of You or About You. Only clips of them.

Because of You- I did wonder what the white liquid was. After hearing everyone's different views on the PV, it seems that it could mean different things.

About You- I thought it had some symoblism in it, but I couldn't tell. So I can't say that I saw any. I'd have to see the whole thing and maybe take a look at her lyrics again (possibly, sometimes that helps).

Someone else has explained the PV to me (>_< forgive me. I forgot who.) and I thought the way they explained it sounded the most reasonable. It's like Ayu is the storyteller. The story is about 6 girls. Obviously in the beginning the girl is a prostitute. But I'm sure that part is beyond the point and not meant to be analyzed anymore than that. So later the guy sees ayu through the TV. He runs to meet her because she LOOKS (through a TV, all you see is the look) pretty. So he give the girl at the door flowers. But the scene keeps changing to a different girl each time, meaning he's playing all of them and being fickle. So the girls push him out and cries because they're not truely loved. The cartoon storyline contradicts to what happened in the reality. The girl and guy broke up and got together. But in reality, that doesn't always happen. So the cartoon is truely the fairytale. Ehh. I think the white stuff is purity. x] Not sure on that.

@echiko: i dont think there are 6 girls..its one, changing for scenery variety purposes..also when he gives the flower he has a sincere face..i dont think he cheats at her - at all of them..anyhoo

now as for the white liquid..its in a way senem - since if we would see it at an other pv of hers then it wouldnt make sense..it fits being that thing..but at the same time its not..appart from being total trash for ayus tastes it symbolises something else like the purity..i think she did that on purpose..everybody would think its senem but its not..just teasing the shallow morons whod say its just senem :]

Now, I am one of the last people to take things at face value; because I like to analyze. But in some of her PV's, some things are just what they seem to be. I'm not discarding anyone's purity theory, as it's plausible, but...the white stuff is:

-liquid
-sticky
-white

If it was to represent ONLY purity, and not semen at all, then it would not have been all three of those things. Why bother making it sticky?....

and to top it all off, the PV IS about sex. Now, there are a couple of instances where we do see the white liquid: various shots where ayu is playing with it in her hands, and in the room where it "washes" them all. In the room one, it doesn't make sense for the "purity" liquid to be washing them, cleansing them. The prostitutes did not leave thier professions at the end; and it's safe to assume they would continue being prostitutes which is seen as sinful. Their intentions might be pure, but thier deeds are not.

The point of the room scene with the white liquid going all over them is to state that sex still rules thier lives, not that they are somehow "pure." Because there is nothing to suggest that they are "pure" at the end. I can't really touch on why Ayumi would be playing with it in her hands, maybe it's the same reason--she's ruled by it. Sex is a part of her life; and she simply does not treat sex with an utmost respect--she plays with it. It has no meaning to her, the prostitute, other then to give pleasure to random guys.

Bottom Line.

It's semen, guys.

How is this shallow? I came up with a couple of paragraphs why I think it was semen, and my reasons for it. The semen itself has a meaning. Ayu likes to play with us, and sometimes it's best to take things at face value instead of thinking it may be something else when it could just be what it appears to be (But somehow symbolizing an act or deed)

Which is one of the reasons i think it's both whitewash AND semen. the double entendre is relevant because of both their pure deeds and sinful end. The point of the video seems to be that sinful creatures have feelings, but they're still sinful. (Either that or they may be sinful, but they still have feelings.) Either way, like the song, there's regret felt, but no will power to actually change things.

anyhoo i think that the ending scene is the anime were the couple huggles so pure loves wins - so maybe at the end they didnt remain prostitutes
also i dont say its not senem..how cant be after all? its white-liquid-white as you said - even though its not the same white (im not gonna go in details about the white differences lol, just in the pv is more solid-color-white)..but i dont think its only senem..cmon, not even koda would put senem at her pvs lol..the pv has some symbolisms too and i cant believe that ayu would say "cmon guys bring me the sperm-like thing to play with my hands 1 2 3 action"
at first the white leaks,maybe she starts feeling pure love...then the dancer get cleansed

I really love the song and the pv did kinda shock me alittle but I really like spyro's version of the pv on the last page.

If you listen to the lyrics at the end ayu sings "kimi janakya dame de" which I think is "I can't live without you" and they show the anime clip with the couples kissing.
So they get back together and Ayu is cleaned with that white liquid meaning a happy ending. - or so I think...
