ayumi's past singles were very different from other artists. ayumi's singles used to contain 10 tracks. there's a reason. especially daybreak

Yeah, I used to get them for the mixes, but there's really no point in buying them anymore. This makes my wallet happy.

jerms - Daybreak!?! HELL YEAH!

US singles=Bad quality, 1 little slip of paper, not a very good cover. Singles usually (from the 1999-2001 singles my sister has), usually have ugly covers, and the tracklist is almost always, single+bad remix and/or snippets from the album. Though I guess it's better to just buy US singles like that because the albums are rarely good, so it's better to just buy this single.

^Btw, those singles are all pop ones^

Japanese singles on the other hand, I'll only buy if it's my favorite song ever, with a cool PV or one or more B-sides (Ai Otsuka's Kingyo Hanabi). Sometimes I'll just buy them because of the covers, as well as an awesome tracklist before the album comes out...(Mika Nakashima's LEGEND). You get your money's worth buying Japanese singles.

I only own about 5 singles or so, and the only other ones I plan on buying anytime soon are some Splash Candy singles (*drolls over Chaos of Love Acoustic*), and any new singles Oni or buriguri release anytime in the future.

Singles are basically songs done of the artist newest album and they release certain songs to starve the fans of the album and what it has in store that is basically all they are for and i love ayu and boa singles they are different

I will only buy a single nowadays if there are enough tracks to justify the price. For example, singles with just the original song, the instrumental and one remix aren't going to get me to buy it (unless I really, really love the song in the first place). B-sides and unreleased tracks (sometimes interviews, etc) are a good reason to buy a single. If a single comes with DVD and is reasonably priced, it's another reason why I'd buy it.

I only buy singles for b-sides, I personally couldn't care less about remixes.

I hardly ever buy singles. It's either if a) it's kick-ass (Evolution, M, etc) or b) I would never buy the actual album ever. Or... c) it's cheap and shiny (DJ Sammy/ Sarah Brightman).

When I was in Japan I jumped all over six Ayu singles that I found for three reasons: 1) I collect Ayu. 2) They were all songs I especially loved. 3) They were dirt cheap.

The only other time I shelled out for a single was Nanase Aikawa's "Roppongi Shinjyu", because I LOVE that song and it's not on any album except ID:2. (Well, I also bought Jealousy and China Rose because they were also cheap and pushed me over the limit to get free shipping...hee hee)

Those are the only two artists at this point that I avidly look for singles though. Mostly I get them for my collection.
