Chinese BoA?!
Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment, and celebrities under the company (including BoA, KangTa, and Super Junior's Han Kyung and Si Won), met with Harvard MBA students to discuss the future of Asian entertainment and the “Korean Wave” in Seoul, on May 31st. The stars shared how they came to be and answered questions from the audience. One of the major topics discussed in the conference was the potential of the rapidly booming Chinese market. Mr. Lee revealed his future plans for SM Ent., including a possible addition of a Chinese member to DBSK and the making of a“Chinese BoA”, who are both set to debut in two months.
According to an SM Official, the students from Harvard have expressed their desire in learning Lee Soo Man's strategies in management, which is proof that the Hallyu Wave has been highly noticed by international people. Mr. Lee also commented on BoA’s accomplishments, using her as an example of an artist whose tremendous talent and SM's marketing strategy, resulted in a global super-star status. He also dismissed rumors about BoA’s alleged plastic surgeries, jokingly saying, “BoA has never had any plastic surgeries. People just become pretty if they come to SM." Source: BoAjjang

Hmmm, the Chinese BoA could be:
1) A Chinese girl that is like BoA (look similar, have similar style on music, speak many languages) or 2) BoA will break into the Chinese market (i.e. singing a whole album in Chinese)

I think "Chinese BoA" means that she'll be entering the Chinese Market soon. And then she'll enter the English market...so she'll release 4 albums simutaneously eventually...lol

I don't think BoA will go for a new career in China...if she does, it'd be a big mistake for her. Her voice is terrible in Chinese.
And DBSK...they better not put a 6th member in there or else...SOMETHING'S GONNA HAPPEN...I will kick some SM-Ent ass if they do. Just as soon as they add a member they be trying to get rid of one... |

Hmm...I think BoA will have success in the Chinese market if she tries hard and her Chinese has improved. She hasn't sung in Chinese for a while right? So hopefully she's gotten a lot better. (I mean, she wasn't horrible, but definitely needed practice)
Anyway, I just hope they release news of her next release, Chinese or not, soon! |

That BoA was going to break into chinese market was rumoured long ago, I think it was a statement from the same person that said that she would do so in some years in order to become the first true "pan-asian"popstar.

when I first watched the PV for make a secret, I thought she had a little surgery done too, but I think it's mostly the new hairstyle and the makeup. If you look at the OUTGROW cover, she looks the same as always, just different hair...

After reading more at BoAjjang, it seems that the "Chinese BoA" is a Chinese girl similar to BoA, rather than BoA putting out a Chinese album.

I'd like to see the original Korean transcript. This sounds like the fault of a poor translation, taken out of context.
As far as plastic surgery, everyone does know BoA is still 19, right? Look at BoA's official Japanese site right now -- it's her 5th Anniversary year. It shows a series of BoA photos right in a row, and you can see how her face has changed, it's obvious. But it's not surgery, it's just growth. A person's face takes the longest time to mature and fill out, and BoA's was still doing that until recently. Silly silly. |
