There's lots of ghosting and crap that can be really noticeable, even with the newer codecs at high quality ^^. But in general, it's not very noiceable, nor is the size very much different if that's the case.

Like has been said, VOB is the original DVD files, it's as high quality as you can find the PVs. But many of the VOBs at JPS are ripped from DVDs that has been shrinked, so not many of them are the original quality.

Depends on the original PV itself. I have D.D.D. feat. SOULHEAD by Koda Kumi that is at 20++ MB but the quality is almost the same with the one on my DVD. So basically, if the PV colors & contrast are high, much likely it will result in BIG size and vice versa.
