Meisa's first public appearance since childbirth with Bradley Cooper

On January 24, Meisa Kuroki (24) appeared in public for the first time since childbirth at the world premiere event for the movie "Silver Linings Playbook" starring Bradley Cooper held at TOHO Cinemas in Roppongi Hills.

Meisa who gave birth to her first child, a baby girl, with Jin Akanishi (28) last September appeared in a tight, black mini dress showing off her legs and slender body. She handed a red bouquet to Bradley Cooper with a smile and said "Welcome to Japan". The movie "Silver Linings Playbook" was nominated for 8 Oscars at the 85th Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and has attracted a lot of attention. It's a tale of modern love story between a man and a woman who lost everything dear to them but somehow finding their way back from the bottom. Meisa already watched the movie commented that although it's a story about the love between two very damaged people who found each other, the love of the family who supported them is also great. She was also impressed with Bradley's last dance scene in the movie.

Bradley Cooper was chosen People magazine "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2011 and had dated popular Hollywood actresses like Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz.. Meisa was also ranked as one of TC Candler's "100 most beautiful faces in the world" announced at the end of last year. "Silver Linings Playbook" will open in Japan on February 22.

Kuroki Meisa makes first public appearance after childbirth

On January 24th, actress Kuroki Meisa attended the premiere event for the movie, ‘Sekai ni Hitotsu no Playbook‘ (English title ‘Silver Linings Playbook‘).

This marked Kuroki’s first public appearance after giving birth to her first daughter last September. Despite giving birth just 4 months ago, she appeared at the event wearing a black dress and stilettos.

Kuroki wished Oscar nominated actor Bradley Cooper good luck by handing him a flower bouquet. Bradley praised Kuroki saying, “Beautiful!“, and expressed, “Thank you for coming out here today.”

Kuroki also gave the appeal of the film saying, “Pat (played by Bradley) is clumsy, but he does his best. Watching it, I grew impatient, but I wanted to cheer him on.”

Kuroki Meisa appears at a press conference for “Yae no Sakura”

On February 12th, actress Kuroki Meisa held a press conference for ongoing Taiga drama “Yae no Sakura” at the NHK broadcasting center. This is her first comeback drama after she gave birth to her daughter back in September, and she’s been participating in the filming for the drama starting on the 7th.

In the drama, Kuroki will play “Nakano Takeko“, a good rival for the protagonist “Yae” (played by Ayase Haruka). Nakano Takeko is a real person in history, who was known as a master-hand at Naginata (Japanese traditional pole weapons). She was said to be gifted with both intelligence and beauty, and she had a short life, but lived furiously.

Kuroki made an appearance at the press conference in costume for the role, and said, “Honestly, I feel no difference in my way of acting (compared to before childbirth), but I definitely can sympathize with Nakano Takeko-san’s thoughts that she wanted to protect something to the end at the risk of her life because I now have somebody I can risk my own life for in the real sense.”

Reportedly, a letter of encouragement was sent to the drama from a great‐great‐grandchild of Takeko’s younger sister Yuko. Kuroki commented with her strong determination, “I felt tense. I will play the role with my full effort, responsibly.”

Kuroki’s appearance on the drama will start from the 16th episode that is scheduled to be aired on April 21st.
