There is pretty much an infinite list of Chinese pop artists who have done it before Beyonce. And Rihanna hasn't made a video for every song on Good Girl Gone Bad, just the singles. There's one key difference from B'Day.

And no, I don't think Rihanna's doing too much of the same that Beyonce did. Rereleases are common nowadays and I already explained why I think they differ with the music videos. I think you're just looking for similarities when they really aren't there. Not everyone is copying Beyonce.

Definitely. I own quite a few of her albums and they all have a video for every song.

And wow, I am SO excited for the new Rihanna album hearing that she's going with a "techno Rock" style. Those are definitely the songs she does best. I think this next album will be absolutely amazing if it does end up being as she says it will.

Please, Rihanna, for God's sake put out some new material. I'm so sick of most of the songs from GGGB that I can hardly listen to it anymore, which sucks because it's an awesome album

Well it seems that a lot of you are hating on "Rehab" even though I know it's "What comes around goes around..." part 2 I like it.

She is coming out with an album next year:

On October 4th 2008 in an interview with All Music, Rihanna confirmed that she is currently in the studio working on her fourth studio album. She stated that.

“I’m currently working on record number four and I’m having so much fun. I’m having so many new experiences and meeting so many new people, it’s amazing”.

Rihanna also stated that the album will head in a more Techno Rock direction saying,

“I want this album to head in the same direction as Good Girl Gone Bad but with even more edge. The tracks will be less R&B influenced and will have a feel closer to that of, Disturbia, Shut Up & Drive and Breakin’ Dishes”.

Rihanna also stated that she will be writing 3 tracks of the album herself and that they are quite different from her previous work and also stated that one of the tracks will fit into the punk-rock category”. She is also studying for a new and more even hot look. A release date for the album has not yet been announced, but it’s probably that it will came out in early 2009

I guess that means a lot of Collaborations. Hmm.....doubt it will help change her miserable sales in Albums for the better though.

I guess since Rihanna is a Singles Seller, someone had the "brilliant" idea to make more of her old songs from "Good Girl Gone Bad" into Singles to trick people into buying them. Ugh. I'm not fooled.

The techno pop direction huh. I hope it's good. I'm guessing Rehab is going to be her last single from GGGB. Gawd, I hope so.

@Bondy: I had a feeling you were going to say asian artists do that. My statement was meant to be as in america. =/

Michael Jackson made videos for just about every song on Dangerous

True, but not each track, but 11 out of 14 I think

Exactly, and Rihanna didn't do a video for every track on Good Girl Gone Bad, but a large amount of them. That completely destroys Luv's argument. Looking at it in those terms, Rihanna would be copying Michael Jackson, but I don't believe that's the case myself. Promoting an album by turning a high ratio of the tracks into singles and therefore making videos for them is no new strategy that any artist is doing because they stole the idea from another artist. It's a rather devious marketing technique that, in this case, seems to be working rather well.

Oh, and btwz Luv: Blondie's "Eat To The Beat" and 50 Cent's "The Massacre" both had videos for every song. Those both came before B'Day. So what were you arguing again?

Exactly. I mean, artists make music videos for songs on their albums, that's all there is to it. Who cares if multiple artists make videos for all the songs on their CD? That doesn't mean they're copying one another.
That would be like saying the entire music industry copies eachother by making even one music video, since obviously SOMEONE had to have made the first video ever. I hope I made sense here...
Ooops! I agreed with bondingo again!

hhhmmm she doesn't copy him, but she definitely samples him It's cool to hear Michael screaming in "Don't Stop The Music" -woo hooo hoo hee heee heee- plus parts of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" playing on it LOL

And a new album? Good!

what are you talking about? Unless your referring to her 1st album sale

GGGB:Reloaded has sold 2 million+ copies in the States and 6 million+ world wide
AGLM: 1 million + in States and 2 million+ worldwide
MOTS: 500,000+ in States and 2 million+ worldwide

I don't know what you and Luv are discussing about but I get your idea, I mean, that promotion technique is quite desperetly due to the minimal sales of physical CD's nowaday, so to increase sales that way... And it's a completely different case for MJ, he was in top of the world when he released vids massively (Bad to HIStory), and of course most of them where millon-dollar extravaganzas shoot all over the world with huge casts, impressive effects and complex coreographies... I don't recall seeing that on Rihanna's vids anyway

Yup. It's quite annoying as well. Trying to play off old news as brand new. Just let it die already.

B'Day is the only album I actually remember having a PV for every song. Blondie, 50 Cent and Michael Jackson somehow don't really come to mind.

That doesn't change anything though. I didn't know B'Day had a video for every song until I heard Luv say it did.

So this happened on Friday but to update those of you that didn't hear this.

"Rihanna wasn’t feeling the best earlier today whilst performing in Sydney, Australia with boyfriend Chris Brown.

Our girl was seen running off stage after gesturing to her tummy midway through a song. Yummy man Chris Brown reportedly finished the song then ran off stage to join his girl.

It seems Rihanna continued the rest of the show without mentioning it again! Read on to check out the video!

** UPDATE: Reader Emily was at the concert and said that Cinderella (the song Chris and Rihanna were singing) was the last of the show and she didn’t return to the stage after that."

Here's the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrMkF...eature=related
