God knows how much I love Britney but Femme Fatale got old really fast. Katy Perry may have been working with the same people but her second album couldn't have been any more different than her first. You're also forgetting than all of those people you listed write their own songs and have much more creative control than Britney. Good music is rather subjective. I would go on and defend P!nk but her quiet success can do all the talking. Pitting them against each other is really sad.

^Katy Perry didn't had as much producers in common during her first album, the only one that ever produced something for Britney was Dr. Luke, and he did it after Katy (it seens he had some tracks for Blackout, but they weren't used). Teenage Dream had 5 (of 9) producers in common.

And even if it is a fact that all the other girls have way more writing credits than Britney, as I said before, I prefer better music over not as good music with songwriting credits (unless you buy them, like Godoncè <3)

Ke$ha, Katy Perry, P!nk, and Kelly Clarkson have been making very good music, even with the same producers (and Ke$ha worked with different people for Warrior so you can sit down).

It's really nothing but opinion. But please don't go around saying that they haven't been making ~good~ music. It's not trash and awful.
I didn't say they aren't doing good music, so, maybe you should try some proper reading. =)

Max Martin has credits on half of Warrior tracks, Dr. Luke has credits on 10 of 12 tracks... 4 more producers of the album had worked with Britney, so, maybe you should also sit down while doing your proper reading.

Why are those girls all working the same people? ~~ No wonder pop music sounds so uninspired lately.

Lmao at the insinuation of Katy Perry not making superior music to Britney. She shattered all kinds of records and broke new ground with her latest album.

Because those composers give what young people, aka their public, is supposed to like. I mean the upbeat, good-for-disco-remix kinda of stuff. Which is nice, but I'm hoping that with the success of singers like Lana del Rey and Adele, they understand trying different styles doesn't necessarly mean a flop.

^I know that, but it also makes it dificult to all those girls to make music that will be remembered... one thing I REALLY like about FF is how deep it goes into eletronic music for a popstar instead of being a watered down radio-friendly version.

If you believe Katy Perry ever broke any new ground with her music, you should be listening to anything that isn't playing on the disney radio for a change. She isn't doing anything unnusual even by pop music standarts

That's for sure. But I think things are slowly changing. Apart from Rihanna, in the last few years, pop music sells haven't been good at all. People like Justin Timberlake or Taylor Swift had huge success, and apart from whether they deserved it or not, they tried with different stuff from the usual up-beat songs.
Maybe that's enough of a sign we need more variety!

I do believe things are chancing lately... Beyoncé isn't sounding like anything on the radio since 4, even if I really dislike Gaga, BTW isn't a very safe pop album either, Rihanna is trying different stuff now and then and it seens like Britney's next album will be less dancefloor focused according to Will.I.Am

Lol, you're funny. So serious.

What I meant was that she was EVERYWHERE. I mean, you could not escape Katy Perry, her success was practically unmatched and there was much buzz surrounding her and everything she put out. She was the biggest star that year. She just kept on sky-rocketing. Pretty much every single she released has become a "classic" in the minds of pop radio today. Forgive me, I forgot how well received "Criminal" was on the charts. What a damn classic. Lol.

I haven't listened to Radio Disney in a long time, I wasn't aware they were streaming songs about male genitalia, losing virginity, drug/alcohol abuse, and penetration.

Pop radio is crap, same as almost everything in the charts, JB, 1D, Taylor Swift, you can't escape from those either, doesn't mean that they are any good imo.

Lmao, I wasn't insinuating that just because it's on pop radio and successful makes it GOOD. I never listen to the radio. I was pointing out a fault in the following argument that was presented:

So in no way has Britney's music had a more positive reaction than Katy's, and therefore you having stated that it is superior is pure blasphemy.

I will give Katy Perry the fact that she just peaked (unlike Britney who peaked between 1999 and 2004) and she got some strong hits on her favor with Teenage Dream (mainly California Gurls, Teenage Dream and Firework, the later 2 + I Kissed a Girl being her strongest).

On the period of time Katy Perry was active on the business, Britney had Womanizer, Circus, 3, Till the World Ends (her song with the biggest airplay ever), I Wanna Go and that crap with Will.I.Am that is not particulary good, but is pretty popular.

About Katy being everywhere during her peak, again, it's anything near Britney's peak...

It sounds the same as the "demo" but I think it's a grower.

Just saw this comment but she was the executive producer of that album and picked all the songs. Her label basically had nothing to do with it.

Wow, I actually find the final version of Oh La la so much better than the demo! Nice!
But if another singer is gonna use "lala" in their titles I'll become dangerous. Let's stop this, please!
