Yay for reviving this handy old thread!

A.Ai Otsuka's Kuro En (CD+DVD OS) or B.Ayumi Hamasaki's CDL 2004-2005 (VCD)?

I already have LOVE JAM & I'm ordering MY STORY with this purchase, and I will most likely not get both because I'm at $129 with one of these. Ordering Thursday June 30th. (Yeah, I know I changed my Christmas wishlist 80 billion times!!)

I was set on buying Ai's CD+DVD (awesome PV, awesome A-side & B-sides!) but then I had the urge to get this concert because it seemed kind of fun, and I love the idea of concerts without elaborate sets and costumes...

Honestly, I'd want to go with Kuro~en, but a concert is so much more value.

Well I, Mr.Never-can-make-up-his-mind-on-what-to-get, decided to go with the CDL 2004-2005 VCD...

I was just thinking about Kuro~en, song by song, and realized it's really not worth getting over a concert. I really like the new 680 version, but I'm happy with my 750 LOVE JAM version. The other two songs aren't really that special (Ai Jazziness sort of bored me and Track 3 barely qualifies as a song though it's sort of fun. And instrumentals are bleh). Maybe the B-side will end out on her 3rd album anyway.

After thinking it over I figured that since I've never really seen any full Ayu concerts, except the 2000 B DVD I have, CDL04-05 looks like a fun concert for summer. This really looks like the only other Ayu concert I would enjoy so I figured for $11, 18 medium quality VCD tracks is better than a single with 6 tracks and a PV I've seen a million times.

A quick question: Does the VCD version have the backstage stuff? If not I don't really care, but it'd be a nice bonus...

It's baaack.

Anyway, which should I get (sorry, not both):Bonnie Pink's Golden Tears, or Even So? I'm in love with the 45 second preview of 'Last Kiss', but I wasn't sure if her new one is better. I might just get the single if I'm feeling cheap and won't be able to order J-pop for a while...

so far I would go with "Even So" without a doubt.....I only quickly previewed the Golden Tears songs but they didn't appeal to me as much as her Even So album...I can even say I was a bit disappointed but I'll try to give Golden Tears a better listening in order to make a better judgement.....

Get 'Even So'. And from the general reaction, it seems most fans prefer it over 'Golden Tears'.

Not that 'Golden Tears' is a bad album at all, they're both great.

I'm having trouble with buying-Namie's "Style" album, and Namie's "Queen of Hip-Pop" album. I'm not sure which one I want to get first, so can someone please help with which one I should buy first.

That's interesting, someone else told me the Style album because every track except for the So Crazy "Mad Bear Mix" was good, and very enjoyable.

That remix of SO CRAZY was only on the first press edition, so it probably won't be on the copy you buy. But, yeah, different strokes for different folks. =b

I'll stick with 'Even So'. Thanks for the help Akurei, ImpactBreaker, ~K+ and luminaire.

Now I have to decide if I'll get it in November or for Christmas...Hmm.

I prefered 'STYLE', 'Queen of Hip-Hop' bored me with its repetitive beats. It wasn't much different to the R&B songs you'll hear when you turn on one of those MTV Top 20 Video programs.

I feel Queen of Hip-Pop couldn't compare to the ballads on Style, but I'm having a slight change of mind and now I'm thinking it would be better for me to buy QoHP instead. I have no clue yet, but I do know I'm finally going to get to buy it on friday, because that's when I get money for my b-day, which btw is friday. Yay me!!!

Evenful is more catchy with a gorgeous cover so I'd personally choose Eventful.

I liked both albums a lot, but as to what to buy first, I'd get STYLE. Queen of Hip-Pop is really good, I love a lot of the production used but STYLE has better songs. And who can beat Wishing on the Same Star?
