Japanese people don't care much about english words, I think, that's why english in their music usually don't make any sense, so I don't see why they would care much if someone cuss in english.
But I read in a book about Japanese culture there's no bad words in Japanese language, but then I read Namie Amuro used bad words for Want Me, Want Me, but it was a vulgar term for a part of the body, it wasn't like the f-word or s-it, there's no japanese translation for that. So I guess they have some bad words.. Last edited by andre2907; 10th January 2006 at 08:57 AM. |

I don't think that it's considered taboo in Japan - maybe they're more open about it. But there's still a lot less cursing than in American music if you look at it.

I don't understand what you're asking, we are able to get away with a lot of cursing in American music but public radio stations will edit it out and CD's have a warning sticker (paid radio like Sirius will not edit music or radio shows). I actually think that censors have gotten more lenient for TV cursing as words that I never would've heard in the 80's or early 90's are now being said on major network dramas offhand.
However, the Japanese do bleep out their own curse words depending on the connotation (they censor a lot of sexual language). I equate it to how on US TV, we can get away with more foreign cursing (such as Spanish swearing) because the censors don't understand it. |

I was watching Pitbull's video on MTV. I forgot which one not Culo but the one after that I think. They cesored like every word he said in spanish in that song. So I guess it depends.

I think they know what they're saying, come on the first thing anyone learns of any foreign language is the swearing
but since it's cuss words in another language it doesn't really mean much to them so they say itfor example I use "damn it" in english more often than not, but it's really hard for me to say "maldita sea" (spanish) cause it feels like it's a lot worse, yet both have the same meaning. As devilayu said, asian countries tend to censore more anything that's sex-related than regular swearings, I was reading in a website two weeks ago that the premiere of Desperate Housewives in an asian country had to be edited and reestructured to delete the sex-related scenes/conversations. |

I've heard the 'f' word in BoA's song I think it was 'power' which is one of her Korean songs. I've heard it in other asian music as well but, I can't think of all the songs off the top of my head.

I've (singer MIKI) - ***** Me
Most of the song is just a male voice saying that, I lost count one time when I was bored enough to attempt counting it. I could upload it but I'm not sure if that'd be appropriate. |

LOL speaking of..
Aikawa Nanase has a song called "*****". It's actually a very good song ![]() ....*****...OH EM GEE...it censored it ![]() anyway.. The title is regarding a "Female Dog"...hee hee x3 I can't believe thats censored, actually Oo;; It's not really a bad word...it's just sometimes used in an innopropriate way. OMG neko ni fuusen says biiiiiiii**h??! LOOOOLLLLLL....... I love neko ni fuusen <3 I actually think the Japanese versions of innopropriate words aren't as bad over there... But i heard somewhere that cussing is HORRIBLE in public, though, and etc places. Last edited by Ayumi no Yume; 10th January 2006 at 06:28 AM. |

That song's really good, not to mention the entire FOXTROT album.
The chorus, or the part right before the chorus is so funny. Those guys in the background. The last line is awesome beyond belief: "Don't call me a b****." XD |

^They just use.. well, I don't know. Whoever translates lyrics makes the lyrics more appealing O_O Like "mune" for example means "chest." .. but from what I hear, there is a lot of slang words in Japanese for things. I have a book on Japanese swear words and such, and they usually put two words together. I can't be so sure nowdays though.
