I think you just ask them to mark the package as a gift.

Ah, ok. I think I read about people in my country who tried to do so but got the same fees anyway, but I'll search for some more information about it when I have time. Thanks.

^Using the gift option doesn't prevent you from custom fees. Keep in mind, they can always open your package and they know where to search informations. They can also keep your package and ask you to send the bill. The shipping fee is also included in the calculation of custom fees. YA just uses tricks to avoid custom.

I got this problem with the LOVE again+Photobook+Ayupan (on CDJapan), I had to pay like €60 to get my package at the customs... For that, YesAsia never failed me lol they never write the real value of the items !
More than 100 €? The price on CDJapan was around 80€ with cheapest shipping option.

After attack and strikes I finally received my box :

It's so huge. I didn't expect it was so big.

@Fubuki - they always mark my package as gift and they always write on the customs forms that the value is US $10 or less. But importing laws are much more relaxed here in Australia.

Ok, this is basically what I wanted to check again, so thanks once more for your information. Avoiding custom fees is what actually interested me, so I'll try to see how it works in YesAsia (I always used CDJapan so far, and I never tried to ask the staff to declare a lower goods value).

It's been a while since I bought something on YesAsia but I remember that they were using blank envelopes/boxes (without their logo) and mark item as sample/gift.

To avoid fees (in EU, except Italy): item(s) value has to be under 80 USD, package has to be "GIFT" and looks like something sent by private person (no store logo, company address etc.), you should choose AirMail/Air Parcel as shipping method (it will arrive in 5-14 days) instead of EMS (all express parcels are checked more strictly).

well, this varies greatly from country to country. Here they will tax you for waaaay less than 80 USD, and the gift option makes no difference as far as my experiences go, just the value.
Where I'm from the only sure way I've found to avoid taxes is if the parcel items are described as books, since books are free of taxes here.

My advice was related to EU customs (just edited it to make it clear) because question was asked by somebody from Europe. Here it's less strict at east (like Poland), more strict at west (like in UK) and there's also Italy where they're obsessed about chinese bootlegs of italian brands and checking ALL parcels from Asia... that's why people there are always charged by customs and waiting for their parcels about 3 months :/

Actually, it's not the same for all EU countries. Here it's under 22 euro (if the package is sent by a company) and under 45 euro (private person) to avoid fees. So the best is to check the information of your custom.

^^ Sure, by now I know under which value we should keep the goods I buy in my country (as I said, I always exceed by just a bunch of Euros). Their information, as well as yours, can be really useful anyway, though, and I appreciate everyone's help a lot.

Now, though, I'm afraid I caused yet another mass off-topic I'm so sorry about it, I didn't expect to get such a huge feedback, even though I hope these posts can be useful to other people too.

Just got today:

Strangely enough I didn't renew my Japanese/tenso address membership so I haven't been a TA member for a few months now, but they still sent me the magazine. Thanks for the reminder to sign up to international TA, ayu!
