^ I AGREE!! i always have that thought, is the difference of sales from GUILTY to NEXT LEVEL because of lost fans? poor people? or what =/

and I agree, I think chart position is only important maybe until the third week.
after that there is no important sales week for the album (unless it's consistent, and for ayu it isnt)

Hehe.
Even though it had a big jump we shouldn't expect for big sales or something.
The tour might have helped with an extra 500 copies or something.
Overall it might be around 3,000-4,000 this week.

Yeah I know the sales are what counts in this case. But I've only been watching the charts for about a year now (since GUILTY) and I've never really seen her jump so much! This album is doing really well and I'm pretty excited I prayed for longevity for this album and it looks like it's coming true, for the most part.

There ARE such fans/people around that might think like "OMGZ NEXT LEVEL sucks!!!111" but still attend her concerts cos she's still Ayu and they're her fans and since she's singing songs like UNITE!, Boys & Girls etc... they'll still go.

And after the concert, they realize NEXT LEVEL isn't such a garbage album after all. And so they buy a copy. 500 seems to be plausible for such people.

Actually this album is selling good for it's weak promotion. I mean, you know Ayu is like a pop icon, she should have known her success is through the media like all mainstream acts. Having late magazines/one TV performance is kinda... bleh. The charting positions says shes still somewhat a strong seller compared to other artists though.

I thought the promotion on this album was not weak at all lol. although she could've donee more lives, she did other things to compensate it. But yeah she's definitely one of the stronger sellers on the list

Nah, compared to Guilty, Secret, and even A Complete, this album promotion IS VERY WEAK. Just because shops, trucks, and Lucky Draw, does not mean it has a strong promotion at all. This promotion looks on the same level as Rule/Sparkle -.-, a single. And this album loses promotion against her other single, Days/GREEN.

The DB movie was released like a week before the album was released, causing attention towards her album. Also she probably has her panasonic tie in as usual, and Sparkle's honda commercial was probably still playing too. And on top of that she has 4 versions of the album released and the USB was advertised on a show. Compared to her other albums I'd say its pretty similar. If I remember correctly GUILTY/Secret only came in 2 editions, and only had like 1 commercial tie in without any singles being released right before the releasee date so there can't be any crossover promotion. Ayu might've not had as many lives, but she did get other things to compensate for it. And plus I think a lot of the lives for the other 2 times were caused mainly because avex released it duringg the christmas new years season where there's are end of the year concerts. I think its pretty even.

No offense, but how the hell did it? Oh, Rule was featured in the credits (Something that most people walk out of) but how is that supposed to indicate to the audience that this is a song by Ayumi and that it is featured on her next album called NEXT LEVEL that will be out shortly?

If you want to compare promotions of the other CDs, lets start with Secret first. She preformed 11 times, 10 jewel + 1 1love, 6 magazine appearances, 2 radio appearances. Startin' was the theme song for a game, BtB - winter olympics, Blue Bird- zespri kiwi, beautiful fighters - dsnap, jewel - Lumix, 1 love Dsnap, Secret - movie. She had nov-dec to promote this over a month.

Guilty had 10 performances mainly together when... and 8 magazine shoots. T2M had Lumix, glitter was used 4 times for different things, fated a movie, decision music.jp. She had between December to January to promote this. Over a month easily.

Next Level had 1 tv performance, like 2-3 magazines, and 5 songs used for promotion. She had 2 DAYS to promote it, mainly her visit to the radio station and her performance in rule. The rest she just practiced for her tour/Finishing her album. 4 versions =/= promotion. USB is not promotion. How can you promote music with no sample??? Also how can you when the majority of ppl cant hear the songs of next level less than a week since it's release date?

Can you say it's the same?
