It's a bad example, but she was very rude under the release of A BEST But no wonder, she was under a huge pressure..

I'd still buy someone's music even if they're obnoxious. The only thing that would stop me is if they do 'bad stuff'. For example, personally I won't buy stuff from Jennifer Lopez because she wears a lot of real fur, which I'm totally against. So I'm not going to support her so she can get more money to buy more fur >.>;

No, it doesn't matter for me, only the music is important.

I have once read loads of bad articles about a certain celebrity and this made me really dislike her personality and so on. Though i really don't like this artist, I have to admit some of her songs are really nice.. I won't say I would support her but I wouldn't refuse some good music by her (actually by the composer, she just sings them ><)

And I also love music by artists who are not those beautiful/handsome type...in fact there are many of them! Good music is beyond looks!!!

Music above all. But it makes it harder for me to like someone's music if they look like, say, Koda Kumi or Stephanie. I like to see people I'm listening to look good. And I've gotta be able to watch a music video without feeling second hand embarrassment.

It doesn't matter.

I won't say I'm a fan of that person, but I'll say I'm a fan of their music.

Generally, only the music is important for me. Some artists I listen to say stuff I don't agree with, some aren't massively attractive (if this is what "appearance" refers to), but I still listen to them because I like the music.

I guess if their personality is extremely horrible then I wouldn't respect them as much, but I'd still listen to their music if it was good XD

Yes, there are artists with an attitude I just can't stand. Maybe I listen to some songs nevertheless because I new those songs because they are played everywhere and I really like them. But I would never really listen to a full album because I wouldn't be interested in trying the music out.

Mostly. Some music is just too good for me to give a crap. And some people are just too rotten for me to enjoy their "almost kind of good" music. It is a major plus for me when I feel that people are both genuine and down to earth AND make fantastic music. Of course.

Yes, I can't listen to someone's music if I don't like their personality and appearance. <- is what I voted. I will still download and listen to the music of a singer whose look or personality I don't like, but I don't consider myself a fan. Generally, the singers music that I love I also love the personality of too. With the style, I tend to only like the music of diva artists any way (Ayu, Kuu) so its never a problem. People often tell me I have the musical tastes of a gay man, because I always love the divas, their looks, their music, their personalities.

Yes the personality is a big factor...when I hear that the artist is a complete ass/*****, then it is hard for me to enjoy their music. It's like they portray themselves as this innocent person in their music (depends on the artist) & then as it turns it's all lies lol. But in general, I just feel like their music is a part of their personality. This is what happened to me with Kanye...I liked some of his music, but I lost my respect for him after he publicly made himself out to be a douche a few times.

& as for appearance...It doesn't bother me as much. I mean sure, it's great when an artist has awesome music & looks great to boot, but if not then it's really no big deal. As long as the music is good, that's all that matters...especially when the artist has a lot of talent.

i generally tend to choose "music above all". i mean, i LOVE Kanye West, but hey, i know he's a douche, okay? personality & appearance are always a plus, but i just enjoy the music!

however, if an artist does something i'm totally against or if they are truly a horrible person, i'll stop listening to them. no questions asked.

In most cases I listen to music because I like it but if I were to become aware of an artists personality and how unpleasant it is then I will probably stop listening to their music.

For example: Michael Buble. I used to listen to his music quite often until I came across some interviews he did on several talk shows. I think he enjoys what he does and he's also quite funny but if he had no audience and no producers to support him then he probably wouldn't be pursuing music just for his own interests. He also doesn't sound very confident in himself when it comes to his own writing abilities and seems to need constant reassurance. Therefore, I hear a lack of sincerity in his music.

Yes, definitely. When I dislike their personality, I don't even give their songs a chance. It's just a huge turnoff and it hinders me from immersing myself in their music. The littlest I know about the artist the better.

I would like to say appearance doesn't play a role, but that would be a complete and utter lie. I'm a very visual person. However, most of the time I look past appearances. I'm quite superficial but as far as music goes, it only plays a minor role.

I definitely give more chances, and I'm also very forgiving (when they release god awful songs) if they have great personalities. I think someone mentioned something similar.
