well... whenever she releases a single, it better be soon. as of november, there'll be a 7 month gap between Mirrorcle World and the next single... and that's usually how long it is from the end of an album to the next FIRST single of the enxt album. get it? anyhow, it'll be so long, it makes me wonder when she expects to have an album out =/

If this is how people are reacting to this, how did the transition from Secret to glitter/fated go =/? It'll come in time, don't worry~ I'm sure she'll do something this year, it'd be weird of avex not to do something since, according to her, she has two new songs recorded (GREEN+kakkoi song)

So Mirrorcle World to now is about 6 months.

Wow, I can't believe you don't know this. It's because a few weeks after Secret was released, AB2 was announced along with Part of Me. =/ That keep people's minds completely focused on the new song and best album. Soon after AB2 was released, glitter/fated was annouced.

My Story had 10 new tracks. Even without a new single, ayu could do the same thing she did with my story, throw in life and 3 interludes and we have a 14 track album. Personally i would like for a new single to be released though, so we can guage where her musical direction is pointing and it would be great to have a new song.

I don't think B&D (no puns) was a flop, technically speaking. It received a gold standard award after all. But ayu speaking, yeah it's a bomb, so whatever way you wanna look at it.

Her high-sellers are ballads. I'm not sure why she doesn't release ballads as singles anymore (except together when and we all know why that's ambiguous). I think it was a mistake not to release jewel and together when as physical singles. Frankly speaking, i'm not too excited about GREEN. The title itself seems to fall flat for me. Morning glory would have been far better IMO lol...

Eh. Her last three albums have been kinda shorter than her old albums, and also more rushed. GUILTY was rushed, Secret was rushed, (m)u was rushed. Quite contradictory to MY STORY, on which work was started 'earlier than usual' according to Ayu, to make it a better album. I sincerely hope her next album will have a track list the size of m(u) or MY STORY, again. =)

I'm glad she didn't release JEWEL as a single though..All her winter ballad singles have explosive chorusses like HEAVEN, No way to say, etc. JEWEL is perfect the way it is. Maybe she thought the same thing and the management team didn't want her to release the single without changing it first? I dunno lol. Also, I'm sure that having saved JEWEL and 1 LOVE for the album helped it get #1.

^ On the contrary i think releasing JEWEL/1 LOVE might actually boost Secret's sales, as both of them could really form an awesome single. Even without these songs, Secret has a high chance of clinching #1 too.

Oh no, i really hope that life won't be included in the next album =/ Personally i don't really want her new album to have any connection with MW's single, which is supposed to be a tenth anniversary single. I hope ayu will do something new for her new album, like heading for a new direction.

I think the possibility of a single at this point is, like many others have said, only probable if she does a late fall or December release. Personally I think if she does a triple A-side with a focus on softer songs and ballads she would be making a smart choice. Think about it! If it came out around Christmas time it'd be like a nice present from Ayu to all of us to close out her 10th anniversary. I know I'd enjoy it, anyway XD

I also think it might be best if she held back on a New Year's Day release and sort of altered her release schedule a bit. Sure she may have competition when they release around spring time but think of how hungry Ayu fans would be for new material especially if she follows the pattern she did this year:

Spring - MW
Winter - Ballad single / double A-side / triple A-side
Spring - new album~

And I agree with Venus with what she said about the Hikki diet. The wait between Boku wa Kuma and Beautiful World was insane. It was a full year, I think?! Craziness.

To be honest, I'd love to see her do another mini album only have this one have a "theme," an over-arching story and whatnot. Like a concept album XD I'm surprised she hasn't really done that before, you know.

Wow, I can't believe you don't know this. See, A COMPLETE was just released a few weeks ago. It had a new re-recording, and peoples minds were focused on it and the new compilation album.

I think it's funny how everyone was always wishing Ayu would slow the heck down with her single releases, but now that she IS actually taking a break no one can stand it and wants a new. single. right. now.

Honestly though? I'm right there with you all. BUT, I AM glad she seems to be taking her time with her next move... in a perfect world, she'd be working on composing new songs (YAY CREA!) and getting ready to release a 3A single for early next year.

I think it should be just or better than mirrorcle world's realease... with maybe 2 different versions, with another song more, both songs with pv, and maybe to finish this 10th anniversary, some another 10th anniversary song, like poker face, RAINBOW, or something like that!!
