^ It will kick in later by next year, but IIRC it's only for Youtube videos? I have the changes saved on my phone so I can't check right now (lmao) but I will let you know for sure later.

I'm very cautiously optimistic we can get the remix on Hot 100. I mean if DNA can do it in less than a week, then a lit af track like MIC Drop ought to be able to, especially with the entire week to chart. And with rumors of an MV, that would really help too (if it's true). Either way, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

^ The change is that the free streaming platforms won't count anymore. For instance, only the Premium version of Spotify will count. Right now, the streams from the free one count as well apparently

^ Oh right! Actually, free streaming platforms will still count, but they'll be weighted differently now. So premium spotify will have more weight to it than free streaming.

"Beginning in 2018, plays occurring on paid subscription-based services (such as Amazon Music and Apple Music) or on the paid subscription tiers of hybrid paid/ad-supported platforms (such as SoundCloud and Spotify) will be given more weight in chart calculations than those plays on pure ad-supported services (such as YouTube) or on the non-paid tiers of hybrid paid/ad-supported services."

So yeah, it seems free streams will still be counted, just not as much as they used to.

They're in such high demand during this crazy week, their poor schedule is packed. The Late Late Show with James Corden was almost certainly last minute, but I'm glad they're gonna perform (and possibly do more ) on my favorite late night show.

I wonder if we're actually getting an MV, or they just filmed this for the teaser...

^ I agree, remixes are hit or miss, but from what I heard in the teaser and what I could vaguely hear during the Jimmy Kimmel concert, I think it's gonna be amazing and I'm SO excited for it.

I do think we'll get an MV. If BTS wants MIC Drop remix to chart, it's one of their best bets. They're obviously aiming to get their name out there in America/the west through all these big-name promotions, so I think they're going to capitalize on that and release a full MV. It would be a shame for them not to after promoting it on Ellen/in the US -- they should use every opportunity while they can. Nobody knows if this will be short-lived or possibly break into something bigger, more successful... but being delusional hasn't failed us yet. I think BigHit will do everything they can while the spotlight is still shining on them.

^ I think it won't be short-lived, since they didn't become popular all of a sudden just because they released something viral. Their popularity grew gradually, so I think it's more likely to stay a little longer. But I may be wrong

^ True, since they grew gradually, hopefully this will just continue to grow them. Hopefully once they reach their peak, they'll go out gradually too, rather than suddenly... I don't want them to be known as a "fad," you know? I want them to spread their music and message as far and long as they can.

Also I can't believe the AMAs are actually happening tomorrow. It feels like it's been an entire month since it was announced, but it's only been a couple of weeks.
