^Neither release you mentioned can be considered "good material" but you do point out very well the fact that Korean fans are still hardcore no matter what kind of crap she puts out. My fear is that when she finally has a good release, will they abandon her? I doubt it myself but it is a Possibility. BoA's Korean stuff is still the only Korean music I can stomach and I hope she continues putting out good Korean music (although no more Girls On Top-like albums please). This is a time in her career where fan support is really needed, so I hope her Korean fans can come through for her. That and for the album to be good.

I liked her English album. Sure it was full of heavy accents + cheesy lyrics but a lot of the songs were very catchy.. I remember having IDIFL and Look who's talking on repeat for days lol. also Girls on Top is one of her best albums imo.

Some were. IDIFL definitely one of them. Didn't like Energetic but it's grown. But they couldve been just as catchy if it wasn't BoA singing. I bought the album when I saw it at Best Buy around the time it first came out and I admit I played it and some of the songs had me hooked. Her US album was essentially my introduction to BoA (never really heard of BoA before that though I heard Every Heart not knowing who sung it). It wasn't until I researched her and checked out a lot of her old Korean/Japanese releases that I realized how good her work was.....and then how bad her English album was...the voice from all those great releases had been edited, clean-cut, processed, completely mechanized.

Then you might like to know that Energetic is still charting. I heard it a couple of times on this one dance radio station and on the Club Charts, its like number 40 or something.
Yay for BoA with extensions.... And whoa....chill out people....I didn't know you'd take it so seriously and I have deleted the line I mentioned about "idols" and such. As for BoA being the only K-pop I can stomach, that is my true opinion so I'll just leave it at that...but I guess I went too far with the idol bashing in the other post and now its deleted. So...sorry for that. Last edited by Polyrhythm; 6th March 2010 at 02:39 AM. |

Tom Punks: I totally agree with you... Even if we have "mainly boybands and girlbands" trend in k-pop now, in my opinion korean music is more interesting and a bit better than japanese currently. I can say that j-pop is more generic now, sorry.
...I can't understand why some of you say that BoA's comeback won't be a hit for sure. I think that Korea misses BoA and wants to listen some new stuff. And personally I WANT SOMETHING LIKE GIRLS ON TOP so badly. No one of songs in this album was boring. But it's my opinion. ...And english album... Sorry, but NO. It's always the same with american albums: songs from singles are really good and catch attention, but the rest is unlistenable. I'm talking about popular, mainstream artists, don't think I'm bashing american music or something.

^^ Did anyone here say that she'll have the same popularity like in first years after debut? No. I hope that it'll be similiar to 2004 and 2005 years, hope it's not wishful thinking.
All depends of competition... We don't know what artists will release and promote new songs and albums in the same time like BoA...
