^freechoice^ Reconstruction of Kumi s albums

Since Kumi officially released her new album WOML yesterday, album which was the center of burning discussions here on AHS, I decided to start this thread. I did something similar for Ayumi in her section and it seemed like a nice idea to start another one for another singer.

Basically, in this thread we can modify the tracklists for Kumi s studio albums. Which albums of hers left you uncontented with its final tracklist? Was it too long? Maybe it ommited some good bside? Or contained to many fillers?

Okay, so lets start.

The first album that I m going to revisite is Black Cherry. This along with Dejavu are my least favourite Koda albums ever. Too many cute songs, long and weird tracklist choices and good bsides left outside.

Black Cherry (my new tracklist) :

01. Black Cherry - thank God that she decided to make a longer version of Introduction
02. Get Up & Move
03. Ningyo Hime - maybe her best rock track, or at least her most powerful. Only today I finally got into this track because I tended to skip most of BC and forgot that this one even existed
04. Tsuki To Taiyou - I love this mellow r&b song
05. Won t be long ”Black Cherry Version” - kinda similar to Black Cherry which is nice
06. JUICY
07. Cherry Girl - love this
08. I ll be there - probably the first song from BC that I ever heard
09. Unmei - like I just said into the Kumi Thread, I felt in love with the instrumental of this song. kinda emotional
10. Won t be long ”Red Cherry Version”
11. Futari de..
12. Candle Light (only as a bonus track as there are already similar ballads in here)

Out:
Introduction - obvious reason
Yume no uta - I prefer Futari de.. . It fits better with the piano ballad theme
Puppy - I don t like this song
Koi No Tsubomi - I don t like this one either
With Your Smile - nice cute song but it doesn t fits with the rnb/urban/pop rock & piano ballad theme
Milk Tea - I don t like it. enough ballads
Twinkle ft. Show Lou - fourth cute song already (lol, I skipped all cute tracks from this era)..I remember I listened to this sometimes last summer but on the album please no
Go Way - I enjoy this one but sadly I don t find it a good place on the album. Maybe as a closer but it would be random so maybe not.

I decided to do a standard 12 tracks Black Cherry. Something that I can enjoy while listening, and not skipping half of the tracks because of the huge amount of cuteness. This has always been my main problem with this record.

^ I'm so happy you decided to keep "Taiyou no Uta", I don't think many people like this song but it's definitely one of my favorites!

I just wrote a new tracklist for JAPONESQUE because I think the original one is too damn long. I mean, ain't nobody got time for 19 tracks. Here it is:

『JAPONESQUE』
01 Introduction~JAPONESQUE~
02 So Nice feat. Mr. Blistah
03 Boom Boom Boys
04 V.I.P feat. T-Pain (Album Version)
05 KO-SO-KO-SO
06 Slow feat. Omarion
07 IN THE AIR
08 Interlude~JAPONESQUE~
09 No Man's Land
10 ESCALATE
11 Love Me Back
12 Lay Down
13 Love Technique
14 Poppin' love cocktail feat. TEEDA

Excellent! I have quite a few altered Kuu tracklists.

When Black Cherry came out, I was convinced she was going to release two albums simultaneously. One themed sweet and 'white', and the other tougher and heavier themed 'black'. (not too long after I had this idea, they announced ayu's A best 2 black and white idea, and I was like "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat o_o" hahaha).

So, here I made my own Black Cherry and White Cherry playlists:
Spoiler:
Black Cherry
1) INTRODUCTION
2) Get Up & Move!!
3) JUICY
4) Ningyo Hime
5) Cherry Girl
6) Black Cherry
7) WON'T BE LONG ~Red Cherry Version~
8) GO WAY!!
9) Yume no Uta
10) INTERLUDE ~JUICY - Ningyo Hime~

White Cherry
1) INTRODUCTION ~I'll be there
2) Koi no Tsubomi
3) With your smile
4) Puppy
5) I'll be there
6) Tsuki to Taiyou
7) Unmei
8) Futari de...~WHOOSH MIX~
9) Milk Tea
10) Twinkle ~English Version~

I also had a hard time getting into Trick, Deja vu and Universe. I find the albums very interchangeable and similar in sound, style and quality. So, I went ahead and made a couple tracklists across the three albums that work for me!
Spoiler:
Deja TRICK
1) INTRODUCTION FOR TRICK
2) Lollipop
3) Okay
4) Passing by
5) AT THE WEEK END
6) POP DIVA
7) Hey baby!
8) Anata dake ga
9) Suki de, Suki de, Suki de.
10) Always
11) Good*day
12) I Don't Love YOU!??

Tricky UNIVERSE
1) Step Into My World
2) TABOO
3) ECSTASY
4) Can We Go Back
5) Work It Out!
6) You're So Beautiful
7) JUST THE WAY YOU ARE
8) Stay
9) No Way
10) This is not a love song
11) UNIVERSE
12) Driving

I've never bothered to make a tracklist for Japonesque, and I'm not sure if it's because I just didn't like the album enough to try and condense it...or what?

Guys, your tracklists are really nice

Dejavu (another one suffering from the cuteness syndrome)

01/ Introduction to Dejavu - one of her best intros ever. At first, I thought that the whole album is going to sound like this (some ethereal/ drummy songs) and I was sooo disappointed when I heard the songs.
02/ Inside Fishbowl - why the hell did she left this gem out?
03/ Black Candy - love the feel of the song. the concept really works with Dejavu
04/ Lollipop - guilty pleasure
05/ Okay - I was quite indifferent with this song but after I made this tracklist few days ago, I started to pay more attention to it and its nice
06/ Aitakute - instant love
07 Anata Dake ga - love it
08/ Interlude to Dejavu - not as good as the intro but good nonetheless. she is really getting on my nerves with these great interludes that teases us for nothing x.x (I'd kill for a kumi album that'll sound like this)
09/ At The Weekend - quite short but this is quite unique in Kumi's discography. YEEEEEEEEYY~~
10/ Hey Baby! - short again and I sometimes forget how it sounds. kinda similar with At the weekend. But its a good song. ~my style..IM SEXY~
11/ I Don't Love You!? - this is so cute. I love the lyrics
12/ Outside Fishbowl - another gem left out from Dejavu

Out:
POP DIVA - this plastic song really gets on my nerves but the intro is epic
Passing By - annoying as hell. mostly because of that male singer
Melting - extreme cute x.x
Choi tashi Life - another cute song... this is a bit similar to I Don't Love You? so I had to choose. I don't dislike it that much, its kinda there
Suki de, Suki de, Suki de. - I don't really like this. Anata Dake ga is so above this for me
Bambi - I like this one but I don't want it on My Dejavu lol...
For you - a nice ballad (a bit unmemorable) but I prefer less ballads and more playful electro in here

Not put too much thought into it but my finalised WOML playlist:

Introduction
Lippy
Mercedes
Like It
House Party
Dance In The Rain
Interlude ~Dance~
Hotel
Gimme U
Money In My Bag
So Fever
Piece In The Puzzle
Fake Tongue
Sometimes Dreams Come True
Walk Of My Life
Life So Good.

I din't like how the ballads bookend an otherwise high energy album so I've mixed them in. Dance In The Rain as a kinda comedown from the opening section with the end message being 'to dance'.

And lyrically Walk Of My Life is positive so I just switched the last two tracks for the album to end happy both lyrically and Musically.

You Can Keep Up With Me has no discernable melody to me so that's out with So Fever in.

Only flaw now, for me, is Gimme U being too somilar to Hotel but I couldn't get it to work placing anything between either and I didn't want to get rid of either.
