Another Hikki English album update...
"According to Daily Sports Online, Hikaru's debut album under Island Records will be released in early 2004. It states that Island Def Jam is putting a lot of money into her impending debut, going so far as to create an advertisement team specifically for Hikaru's debut (titled "HU Project," as previously reported on Hikaru-Online.Net). This is only the second time that Island Def Jam has done this for an artist, the first being for Mariah Carey. Hikaru is said to be receiving "VIP" treatment, much like the aformentioned Ms. Carey.

The article also mentions how Hikaru has not been in the spotlight since her appearance at the Matrix Reloaded World Premiere in May due to the fact that she has steadily been working on her English album."

I'm more and more looking forward to the album now, with the dates set and everything. I hope Hikki does the English version of First Love on the album, seeing how popular that song was! I also hope Hikki doesn't follow in Mariah Carey's footsteps...like initially very popular and then all commercial.

Thanks for the update.Hikki is lucky to actually have a lot of money for her new album.I've been looking forward to this after finding out she was going to release an english album.

I wonder if there's gonna be TV commercials and such?? If Hikki gets popular in the US then her album will surely come to Oz!!! yay dream come true.

I hope "Simple and Clean" will be released as singles in the US first, i've postive(a little) that it'll be a hit, and eventually, the album will be a success too.


Let's just hope it won't turn out to be a let down like COCO lee.

I've been waiting since first hearing of her signing to Island Def Jam, and now, its just so close!

Must wait few more months.....

Yeah it's too bad that her album didn't work out as far as sales...
I wish she had released something closer to "Ultra Blue" in the U.S.!

wow oldness....but for the bad sales, i blame the label. the music was great...and also, theres a high percentage of people who wont buy the cd cuz she's Japanese. people here only like country and rap music.
