Well I've heard JOY only once so far and I understood her unlike MY MEDICINE which I needed the lyrics to - it sounded okay to me

^Yup I can say it's much better than MY MEDICINE, which don't sound very english to me. =)

Compared to normal Japanese, I think that Mika has quite good English.

I am not a true fan of Mika, I discovered her with her BEST album. I recently bought YES, very good

I think I will go see to her concert, I know it will be very different from Ayu concert, they are different kind of artist so it is normal.

^yeah Mika's english is good compared to other Japanese artists maybe because Mika sings songs in English aswell as in Japanese i.e - AMAZING GRACE - JOY - MY MEDICINE - WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD

Mika's english is better in JOY but I like MY MEDICINE after listening to the song many times you learn the lyrics ^^

well, i don't really like mika's english as much, but...it IS improving, though:

dance with the devil: at first, in the cm, i always thought that she says dance with the devil QUEEN, and TRAPPED in the music...
then, when i heard the original song, i hear dance with the devil PRINCE...and trapped in the music, too
afterwards, i read the lyrics, and i was like wtf? dance with the devil PLEASE?? and DRUGS in the music?? O.o;;;;

but yea, still love the song and the engrish =D gives the song a mika-feel XD

HAHA~ So it's "dance with the devil please"? At first, I don't really catch what she's singing. Yup I agree. Her english is improving.

I'm blown away by how amazing YES is...honestly, I wasn't expecting much since I'm not the biggest fan of her gospel-stuff, but after hearing the new tracks (IMO, there are absolutely no filler tracks on this album), I've come to love the whole thing. It revived my love for CRY NO MORE. :3

My least favorite track is probably Yogoreta Hana, which isn't saying much since it's still a great song. I can't decide on a favorite album track, but it's between THE DIVIDING LINE, Kineka, and GOING BACK HOME.

I have so much love for this album, it's insane. <3 I can't wait to see what style Mika adapts next!

I've been thinking about this for a while, too...

There are Ayu-haters. There are Kuu-haters. There are Ai-haters. But I've never actually heard of a Mika-hater...have you? Anyone have stories to share?

I have encountered a few. They just don't like the type of music she produces or feel that she hasn't made too much improvement since her debut.
In terms of hating her due to her image, I haven't encountered any yet.

Honestly, I really don't see how someone can hate an artist in general without personally knowing him/her. I mean, why can't they just ignore them instead of bringing them up and abasing them?

LOL! well... here I am!

lol I dun hate her yet, and I dun think I will become like those ku-haters or ayu-haters, but at this point I dun like her and I dun care anymore about her.

So, I switch to mink! and BTW mink has waaaaaaay better english pronunciation than mika.

maybe mika-haters aren.t outspoken cause there is not reallly a point of comparison with another artist.. or maybe mika she.s not really over exposing herself to the point where some1 had enough about her or envy her.

PS: wonder why I was here? a friend showed me you post lol, cause he knows I prefer mink! and also I like to visit the mika fan thread... there is less drama than oin others threads.. going about "she copy this, she copy that", etc.

I've heard of Mika-haters...as in non-NANA-Mika-haters. People who can't stand Jazz/Regular Mika.

I never really heard of any Mika-haters around me. Except for my friend, he's a NANA fan too. But then he prefers Yuna than Mika. He's not really a very Mika-hater. Just that he doesn't like Mika's genre of music.

Very rarely do people hate celebrities and so on because of a "personal experience." As if many people would even get to have such encounters with a celebrity. And sometimes it's not the fault of the person who is hating the artist, since the artist pops up in just about any/every thread. lol

I don't think I was referring to any particular artist, just artists in general.
Some anti-Mika people can be in-your-face annoying (ie. harrassing fans by IMing them and telling them how much she "sucks" and randomly dropping into the thread *cough hyppcrites*).
