Okay this is just a random thought and I hope I don't offend anyone in ANY way..cause I know my parents hate it when i talk about peoples deaths =___=

But yeah as the title says..if Ayu died besides the fact that we'd all be devastated(or end up killing ourselves cause of emo-ism=P), how far do you think the news of her death would go. I mean she's like a historic figure the J-Music industry so you would think shes pretty important yeah? So would her dying be World Wide News or would only Japan be known to it...and then we only find out like two days later=O

If Ayu died, Avex would probably release a collectors case of everything, all of Ayu's songs, DVDs, photobooks, posters, and probably previously unreleased material like sound bites or things that were excluded from her album. I would buy it, but its going to be VERY expensive.

Anyways, I think it would be world wide news.

I'm going to have to agree with your parents on this one. It's rather strange to just randomly talk about a person dying, not to mention disrespectful. (Maybe I'm just too Asian or something, but this kind of out-of-nowhere talk is not regular banter in Asian culture).

That being said, I suppose she would make very big news within Japan of course, and relatively big news in Asia. However, world wide? I think it'd warrant about a five minute newspot, but nothing more than ten minutes, seeing how she never expanded her music outside of Asia much.

I am extremely addicted to Ayu's music, I have to borrow my cousin's iPod when I don't have mine and listen to the Ayu's songs I put there.

Maybe she'd become like an Elvis type of figure over there.. People tend to get ultra popular if they die. Avex would release stuff for years to come and still make money off of her.

As for western news.. would probably get mentioned, but like as a minor thing.

I think if Ayu did die, there wouldn't be any report on the local news in North America of her death. She might get a snippet on the international western news, but nothing more. Even in the year Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung died there was I don't think any news of it in the western world.

Of course it would be huge news in Japan, just like ZARD and I'm sure sales of all her albums and singles would rise. It would also be huge in Asia too. There would definitely be like a fan gatherings and events for her.

I know ppl will die 1 day for sure . . . but if ayu D*&$ . . I would cry the whole day and be in mood of endless ~ sorrow for a short or long time ..

Maybe i have mental problems, but i'm the same as you. I "use" ayu's music for getting up, for lunch, foer eating, to do my homework, while walkin', before sleepin'....oh my god, i use ayu all day!!

I don't even want to imagine it. I would be devastated. I know she's not the only singer out there, but hell her music is special!!! She's one of the few artists that can really make u feel what she was feeling when writing/recording/performing her song.
I think it could be a world wide news. I mean she recently (well...not too recently) appeared on CNN
Anyway, as long as ayu lives, i don't want her to appear on anything XD!!
