My friends all know about Ayu and some other more established Jpop artistes like Namie Amuro, but that's because they just see them in the magazines and newspapers. And it pretty much stops there. I don't know any friends who like Jpop music.

I do know A LOT OF FRIENDS who like anime soundtracks, if that counts. Yup, and they love the theme songs.

I have two friends who like asian music~ One who converted me, and one I converted! My grandma says she "enjoys the beat" but I think she's just humoring me ^^;; It's like a taboo here though, I got tormented because of it in middle school.

I know 3 other people who listen to J-Pop. One is an Ayu fan. Another likes a few more than Ayu but he's A BIGGGGGG Ayu fan. Another one listens to more anime/J-Rock I think. And I know one more who listens to X-Japan like lol I don't know who is that.

And I'm the onlyyyyyyyyyyyy one who likes Koda Kumi! Omg.

same here too in S'pore . Local magazines like TEENS & Teenage put taiwan acts on their covers almost every month without fail which's quite annoying to me .

I don't listen to chinese music even though I'm a chinese but you can't help that both magazines tend to support chinese music more than Eng music which can be quite frustating to me .

Most people here do know that Ayumi exist. Just because she's really popular, not because of her music, but people know her as a Japanese diva. But they've never really listened to her music. If they would only try to listen, I think that they'll like her. Her music is not hard to get into liking.

I haven't come across any J-Pop fans here in Yuma. I have seen quite a few anime fans but that doesn't really mean anything. When I lived in California I knew quite a few J-Pop fans...

Play the CD in the car or something. Sometimes my friends will find them nice and ask me the name of the artist.
