I agree with PoetGirl, I bet you no one would even recognize Ayumi Hamasaki without make-up. Maybe alan just doesn't work as hard to try to cover up every single blemish. She seems like the kind of person who just accepts it and gets over it. I admire that .

argh I hate this cause always when I order I'm like "Yay! I finally have all of her singles" but she is always coming up with more new stuff!! xD so still I have to get BALLAD one and Swear But I'm gonna focus in getting the new album first before they run out of first press!

new album preview:


Sounds not bad, it's a different direction from voice of earth. Personally I'd like for her to release some more songs with acoustic instrumentation, like gnt. I still think 久遠の河 sounds like the best track from this preview. She still has a voice that make even slightly generic and boring ballads work so ithis album might end up working better than expected form the previews.

God, the pop songs are SO REFRESHING. The ones that I REALLY love from the preview are:

- Mitsumetai
- Lost Child
- Essence of me
- my life
- Shiroi no Tsubasa

Essence of me is like WHOA. Is that ELECTRO POP omg alan ilu!

anyway... some disappointments of course. Namida's remix was gross, and Nobody knows but me was ... was expecting a lot from the title, but oh well. still love you alan

I kind of don't like the new direction she's going to, Voice of EARTH was the perfect example why I love alan. my life apparently has so many ballads and only like 1 interesting sounding song (Essence of me). But I hope most songs will sound better once the album is out.

I think my life sounds good too!
There may be a bit too many piano driven ballads though.
Ballad and Kuon no Kawa are so epic sounding compared to the rest!!

well but in contrast to the really big piano ballads that we have (BALLAD, my life, Shiroi no Tsubasa, Mitsumetai and One), we have really cool and hot pop songs (Swear, Essence of me, Nobody knows but me, Lost Child, Butterflies), so I think it balances out really well.

I'm already starting to like this more than VoE.. XD

^EXACTLY! I feel this album's been arranged perfectly. There's a bunch of awesome ballads for her ballad-loving fan (like me ) and there are upbeat, pop songs for the upbeat-loving fans. So, in that way this album, so far seems to be an improvement from VoE.

and why do you like the remix for Namida? I felt they kinda simplified the song a little too much, and the interesting instruments you hear in the original mix just disappear, leaving this really empty feeling to it. : /
