i voted fot namie because her english is much more better than ayu's in SONGS.
she uses english much more in them  i haven't heard ayu or namie speaking english in conversation.

Neither have amazing English, but Ayu's is better definitely. She was able to talk to the fans in London!

After watching her English 'CNN' interview back in '06, I'm convinced she's improving. Her London meet'n'greet was also very impressive.

I think they're both very good. Namie's isn't great but its not horrible, in some songs in better and some songs its not -- I never know what to except with Namie's english haha. Ayu's is cute -- she tries really hard with it. Granted it isn't a masterpiece yet but the fact she's working on it regularly and speaks it in front of millions of people with enough confidence to stand straight makes me vote for Ayu automatically. I've been taking Japanese for 2-3 years and I still get nervous to speak in front of my teacher/classmates when i have to speak it. haha.

I prefer Namie over Ayu. To me Namie uses more english than Ayu. :p

Ayu has been studying English for a long time now so I think her understanding and conversational English is probably much better... I think Namie may be shy about her English but since there isn't any video evidence of her conversing in English I'll just say Ayu is probably better at it. When it comes to pronouncing stuff though, Namie is better at that, when she tries, believe it or not. She's capable of saying 'th' perfectly, mostly live. For some reason during her recordings she relapses into Engrish.
