Not sure if anyone has seen this yet but Kuu will be going to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Music Festival, here's a blog entry about it with pictures of the event:

i found out that this song is originally from Kiroro (the vid is also up on youtube)
i actually can't tell if it's kuu or not, it could be her, as you said in her early times. and as love_shine already said it must be from a tv special or maybe from one of her auditions, if it is her because i can't remember that song too. but it sounds quite beautiful someone mentioned on jpc that VIP was composed and written by Jessi J (the british singer) it's quite intressting because i realized a few days ago that both wear those hot tights in their musicvideos (kuuchan in VIP and Jessi J in like a dude) but well probably it's just a coincidence... |

Jessica Cornish is stated as one of the writers for V.I.P, yes. I guess Avex and Kuu just bought the song after hearing the demo like usually.
After all they love to use western written demos and songs for Kuu, at least for the upbeat songs. I'm happy about Kuu being at that Japan-Vietnam festival. I seriously love it when Kuu releases something, it's always very exciting to see how she does since she isn't like those who will surely get #1 spot. Of course, a #1 single would be really nice since the last time she got one was in 2009 (Alive/Physical thing). But I'm happy she's in Top 10 anyway, and does digitally very well too. <3
