God I fucking hate Perfume. The beginning and first verse are out of this world. Then the chorus comes in and I just want to die because it's so awful.

For me its the fact that the lyrics seem so choppy. They don't flow with the song.

I don't like the pv for Perfume. The song is nice especially the Dreaming Mix.

Really nice video for Perfume! Britney looked on character and better than she has done in a while. Or maybe it's just that I feel she showed a relatively different image from the usual. I mean, for me all the Femme Fatale videos portrayed the same kind of girl (yes, even Criminal) and Work Bitch had the same type of woman in it too. Perfume somehow feels different. Maybe it's that chequed shirt.
Anyway, it worked perfectly. Good job, Brit, good job.

i only have one question, why the f they autotune her so much!? Passenger and Don't Cry is the best eaxmple that she can sing, but they simply don't LET HER...I really did like these two a lot! It felt like it's the old britney with newer sound. The rest was borring tho, as all EDM stuff is for me...

you're right....I also thought about this...she should involve more into her songs vocally wise.

The constant use of effects on the voices of several singers (that aren't always autotunes) is an aesthetical choice, and a lot of them are actually pretty capable singers (Cher, that "invented" the aesthetical use of autotune is a huge example).

Brit Brit actually is autotuned on the ballads, but there the software is being used just to correct pitch, and pretty much every singer does that to some extent.

98% of what she releases these past few years is empty vocally it's probably not even autotune problem it's probably just a bad choice of genre. i'd say bland EDM like she's been doing is for those who have 0 vocal use capability actually that'd what she sounds in them for me...

^"Bad choice of genre" is a matter of taste... Music-wise, I prefer post breakdown Britney over almost anything she did during her peak.

Spoiler:
are we going to argue who's taste is better? jeez.... i'm not trying to say anything of that sort here...>_> i'm just saying that instead of jumping on the bandwagon she can do so much better, she still CAN. And i know that 99,99% of whoever listens to her calls whatever she's doing "a best thing ever". And people in general these days are abandoning music that breathes, and are obsessed with all the stuff there's now on the wave. SO it's really no wonder.. And i always had been a lot of the oposite from what everyone else likes. And well i grew up with her being in peak so no wonder i feel nostalgic hearing her SING again instead of reading a "poem" *caughworkbitchcaugh*. She still can pull the singing part and i don't know why she doesn't.

Long story short: she has vocals, she still has emotion in it, she should use them more than just 3-4 songs since her breakdown ended. That's my main point here. I thought she f-ed up her voice with all that stress and habit and god knows what else and is now only selling because that shit is popular these days and because she has a name made for herself throught all those golden years. BUT i kept silently hoping she will come back with something that has a feeling because i still didn't wanna believe it. AND SHE DID. SO. YEAH.

I personally lost interest in her musical activities after In The Zone. It was the last album i enjoyed and, well , then my music habits turned to rock genre. HOWEVER, i still looked/look after her hoping she's/'ll get back on her feet, and she did! Even if i absolutelly couldn't stand anything she's done since then, i was very glad she got her life together and was doing good in the bussiness again. I grew up listening to her so even to this day i still feel sort of connected lol And i still do check on her. And i have to say these couple of songs just asured me that she's still THAT Britney, it's just that her talent gets pushed away by popularity standarts and what sells. I am in fact very happy she is doing good in all ways.

I go for her experimental urban beats, In The Zone IMO is so far her best album! Blackout is on the same level, great comeback.

I kind of love every Britney album except Britney Jean, but even if I'm partial to her early works, for me In The Zone was the most various and better done.

Since when the Hell was Britney known for her emotion? She has one hit which portrays emotion: Everytime. Britney was never known for that kind of thing since day 1. She made sinfully catchy, fun, POP music, and she still does as such. Femme Fetale was effing phenomenal because the production was top-notch. They really explored the layering and processing effects of her vocals there NOT to disguise her (in)ability to sing, but for the greater good of the final product. Just because a song uses processing doesn't make it a a bad song. The beauty of producing electronically is that you can CREATE sound, which is what music is all about.

^Again, you are acting like your personal taste in music is an objective information. It isn't.

And she isn't following "popularity standarts" as much as she is following an aesthetic she herself made popular, considering Blackout is the blueprint for much of was made in pop-music from 2009 to 2013 (Rolling Stone goes as far as considering it the most influential pop album of the last years).

I also disagree that filtering your voice (as not everything is autotune) doesn't mean taking the emotion out of it... As you can check on sad-robot-song It Should Be Easy.

edit:
About her albums... IMO very few popstars out there can put out one album on the same level of quality of In The Zone, Blackout and Femme Fatale. Her music is really underrated

You are actually writting n the same manner that i do, but i am not going at you with stupid assumptions that you're better than everyone who thinks differently, am i? I am not. Truth is we both are right, if you hadn't realized yet. Also I never said that it's about filtering her voice that kills emotion, where did you find that? it's THE WAY SHE SINGS...*facepalm* See you're not even understanding/reading me clearly...

ALso i think from now on i'm starting every less popular opinion statement of mine with "IN MY OPINION WHICH IS NOT A FACT" from now on....it's starting to get a bit paranoid around here..Can't people just say what they think and go "I see. I got it. However, i'm still gonna stick to my thoughts". That probably wouldn't happen anyway.
