If she did get married without any notice, when people finally found out there would be comments like "she doesn't care for her fans", "she's embarrassed of her husband being so young", "she was embarrassed about her love life being such a mess on the past 2 years", "she didn't want people to find out because she was afraid it could fail like her previous marriage", etc... now THAT would have been a mess imo.
It's better this way, if she can keep it like a simple announcement to let people a aware she's going to be married and that's it. I just hope she keeps it private after this announcement.

To be honest, I don't have much fait that this relationship will last.
She is moving way too fast and we have seen it all before. She seems desperate to be married, I guess.
I didn't think she would do this so fast again, after the Mannie meltdown.

That being said, I do hope she proves me wrong!!! I hope this is the man who can make her eternally happy so congratulations on the engagement!

Definitely. She seems to still think that just because she shares stuff on TA, it's gonna stay among TA, even though it's been proven so many times that's not the case. It says in reports "according to Hamasaki's official fan club." How else would they know this unless they weren't TA members themselves? I can only imagine how many journalists are signed up at TA just to see her stuff. Even then, all they need is a TA member as an informant to relay what she writes. It goes back to what I said earlier: it's up to her how private this stays, and in my opinion, TA is not private.

It's rude judging others relationships, in my opinion. Even if she's a singer I don't think anyone should judge her private life. I wonder how you would react if someone tells you "OMG your marriage will not work because you rushed things". It would piss me off.

Actually, if she were dating this guy for 7 years as with Nagase, AHS would complain anyway because she waited too much, she's too old to get pregnant or worse... because he's american and younger. Oh wait this is happening now lol.

she's already doing somethign right, even if we saw photos, she didn't mention a thing about who the guy is. So she is doing somethign different and right this time, she obviously has learned the lesson, and she's better keep it that way for her own good. Makes less drama. Plus she's not the only japanese celeb married to a westerner, i'm sure of that....

an other thing tho a year is long enough. My parents got married after less than a year of relationship and they are still married after more than 25 years. I don't think it's all about how good you know a person it's about how good you understand each other.

I'm actually kinda shocked of the numbers of negative comments after I left the forum last nite. It's okay to be skeptical, but saying age differences/marrying a white guy/i'm so done with ayu is pretty rude.

Nobody ever knows how a relationship will go. Either the love dies on the way or last till the end of people's lives. There's nothing wrong if this relationship doesn't work out in the end (which I hope not). At this moment, she's happy and the guy is happy, and there's true love between them. That all matters.

Just because her future husband is 10 years younger doesn't make her a "shameless" woman. I'm pretty sure if Ayu were a man and her fiance was a women, there wouldn't be such negative views on the age gap.

We can't assume this marriage will flop just because of the history of her past relationships. Yes, Ayu has bad timing, but who knows, maybe he really is the one? Only time will tell.

And on another note, Ayu doesn't have to get pregnant, lolol.
