There's definitely two Ayus. The product and the person. I don't know much about the product but whatever. The point is that the person (hereafter new ayu) yearns for the product (old ayu). The big giveaways are the music which sound like music from early parts of her career. That's the initial basis and also why I don't think she's talking about nagase. She initially acknowledges through nonverbal communication that she is alone. But does she really like this or not? In general the lyrics made it sound like she was yearning for her past self. Already in warning she's acknowledging that she doesn't want to become her old self. Hanging around someone makes you become more like them. In no future she's questioning why they met. The next few songs ayu is like "ok I want you and I wanna do something so that you'll be mine, but it feels like you're slipping away and I feel selfish for wanting you back." In out of control ayu is giving hypocritical lyrics and basically being crazy about wanting herself back. In story it seems like she's acknowledging that they can't be together anymore and is like 'we betta reincarnate and be together again.' Now for the gift, which I think is ayu who's finally lost it. She's obsessed with herself and wants to marry herself. The whole song isn't factual though. It never really happened. She acknowledges this in the show must go on. She can't be with her old self but she still has to keep on living. She knows she's gonna be alone. But even in this song she still yearns for her old self just a lil bit. Walk acknowledges her loneliness even more. It feels like she's in touch with her old self but they're not together as ayu wants it (she wants to get married to her). However I think the general picture with A Bell and Warning being first and even Movin On Without You, ayu is getting out of her storytelling and saying that she's gonna be alone. No more product ayu. From now on she's a person.

So I really think she's singing to herself and not about a lover. I mean she does love herself. She just wants to become her old self again but she knows it isn't happening. that OR she is trying to tell the fans that she won't become her old self back in her heyday. Warning stands out for a reason!!! It's the most blunt song. She's like don't expect the stuff I did before. Then the rest of the songs 3-11 are her own love letter to herself STAGING the situation to the fans. She's trying to show us in a somewhat dramatic love story that she isn't gonna reunite with her old self. Essentially she's gonna do her own thing from now on, whatever that may be. The music on this album sounds like her old stuff and it isn't reinventing anything or being progressive since she's copying that old sound. While she's giving fans nostalgia she's telling them it won't happen anymore. She's being ironic. Or something like that.

I hope this made sense even though it was a very general analysis.

By the way, what was the thing that would make us have a clearer idea of the meaning behind the title "A ONE" within the album's package?? As far as I've seen there are just pretty booklet pictures of her and a very weird CD design lol

Finally listened to the album, AND I LOVE IT

It's so good, I like everything about it! I wouldn't say it's her best album, but it doesn't have to be, the important thing is that it's amazing and so much better than LOVE again and Colours imo (I don't dislike neither of them, but they are two of her most weak albums for me)

But I still think snowy kiss is much better than TSMGO.

Just got around to listening to the album, and I love pretty much everything about it.

I can't say there's a track I really dislike,though if I really had to pick, I'd say as much as I like them the Zutto.../Last Minute/Walk single songs are my least favorite, they just never really stuck out to me as anything more than ok. I absolutely love Warning, NO FUTURE, Out of Control, and The Show Must Go On. Though I could honestly listen to this entire album over and over again (which I'll probably do).

The gift sounded ok when it was first released, but after hearing story and anything for you, it loses its gem completely, and to make it worst, she put it between story and the show must go on, so it gets skipped a lot lol

I wonder if anyone has mentioned a deeper connection between Walk and WARNING, other than the Lalalalais? Someone brought that up and it got me to think, it has to be more than coincidence.

In WARNING, Ayu is talking about doing as she pleases. Doing things as she decided without regard or care how others will interpret it. If they have a problem, it's their problem.

In Walk however, it appears she is talking about the exact opposite. Worrying whether or not she has made someone happy, whether or not she has let anyone down. Whether it's selfish to want to diverge, Worrying about standards and living up to them in the future.

Someone mentioned on another site that they felt with the whole ' Alone concept, lyrics and the music being reminiscent to ayu's older style that they felt she might be announcing her retirement or that she may take her career away from music... and possibly into something else

I wouldn't be surprised if we get another album around November. But she will probably go back to her schedule of releasing on the first of the year.

It seems like she is second guessing her original decision in WARNING. She isn't sure if it's the right thing to do (leave the "product" Ayu, the one the public adores, behind and be who she wants to be). Even though she can be so blunt with how she feels, she still is unsure if its the right choice.

i'm ayu's fan since 1999.
ayu always had wore that bracelet from her debut.
but i coundn't see that ayu wear the bracelet any more since 2003(or 2004),
ayu wore that bracelet again in Last minute PV.
when i see that bracelet in Last minute PV, i was surprised, and i thought ayu wanted to express something..
that bracelet was seemed to be very important for old ayu.

Ahh that's good to hear Ayu's music has always been personal. There's so much meaning behind it. And it's beautiful she shares it with her fans.

It would definitely be interesting to see one day, if she was overseeing younger artists. I imagine it would be someone she saw a lot of herself in maybe.
