I can't get over AKB having 3 songs. I'm sorry, they are just an idol group with very bad vocalists and very bad dancers whichs popularity is overrated because a bunch of horny old men buying 50 copies of every release. All of my japanese friends either don't care for them or don't like them, because of all the old men following them. They like their idol groups like Momusu or Momoiro Clover Z and so on but AKB? Concidering AKB that important and giving them 3 songs to sing is like shitting on J-Pop and the japanese music scene as a whole.

I think AKB is a disgrace to J-Pop. Their influence just destroys the whole thing to me. And that they have three songs in the setlist just annoys me and makes me hope that this group will eventually destroy themselves somehow so it will end. I know this sounds cruel but I seriously don't understand why they deserve this success with their awful music. -.-

they're what's mainstream in Japan nowadays, in every country we have those genres that's having its moment, selling zillions and taking crowds to concerts, and that doesn't mean it's high quality work, but it's commercial, so that's why they're this huge, also, there's a lot of cultural matters behind their success that we foreigners probably won't understand. Here in Brazil we have "sertanejo", a genre somewhere in the middle of country and pop music that moves millions of money every year, a lot of people hate it, but if I turn the radio on, those sertanejo acts will be playing nearly in every station and in the weekends they're on every TV channel performing. Thing is, the big majority of the country loves it and it makes money, everyone has your own AKB48 in your corner of the world.

Oh cool, now I know that I won't be watching her performance. This is probably my least favourite Ayu's song. I tried to like it but it didn't happen. I really did.

Hating "A song is born" = blasphemy

While the embellished POM arrangement is absolutely gorgeous, TK's original arrangement shows a kind of restraint which suits the song much better. I always lose it at the second chorus, when it's only Ayu + synth.

The lyrics of A Song is born are so beautiful. The only ayu song that is guaranteed to almost always make me cry. I would love if she wrote more songs about the world in that way.

It's also just a beautiful song.

Even Arashi's doing three songs. But yeah, this is one of those reasons why today's 'high-end' J-pop scene is so BS that I want to pay attention to lesser-known musicians like Rina Katahira.

But then again, thanks for NOT putting either Ayaka or miwa in MSUF.

Sometimes I think Ayu doesn't give a .... anymore! But if it means a performance of A Song is born with her better voice then I'm down for giving it a chance
