Yep. As part of a "Western-Eastern" collaboration.
Alesso actually introduced I Wanna Know feat. Jolin as a "new version" of the song. He didn't use the word "cover".

Jolin said a while ago that she won't release it because she thought it was "not good enough".
She also revealed recently that her agent had it at home...

Since it's not really considered a major song in the album, and let's not forget that PLAY is 2 years old now, it would be wasted money. I think that's why Jolin and her staff decided to scrap it instead of making a new one or shooting some new parts like they did for Honey Trap.

By the way, Jolin also said recently that a release for PLAY World Tour was not scheduled (at the moment).

Jolin is working on her new album in Sweden right now, and she will attend Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show at the Grand Palais in Paris on November 30th!
The new album's release is still scheduled for 2017.
