^Lol'd at that

I don't want to spam Ayu like angry or something, more like asking her for help (pretty much like asking mommy to do something about this thing I don't like ) but yeah, we need to tell Avex this idea is just stupid

Seriously, what the heck? Are we even going to get overseas versions of CDs anymore? avex has always been super backwards when it comes to stuff like this, but I thought they were getting better about it, now that they put Ayu and globe on Spotify. This is such a shock

Update #2
According to CDJapan’s official Weibo account this does NOT apply to Avex’s other subsidiaries. As mentioned in the original article, only products published by Avex Pictures will be effected.

Avex ban's exports...

Not about ayu but it does effect people who buy ayus stuff.

Quote:
As of February 15, major Japanese publisher Avex Group has enforced an export ban on Blu-Rays, DVDs, and CDs, meaning anything published by the company and its various subsidiaries cannot be sold outside of Japan.
this will damage ayus revenue, and how will tenso work now

It's not affecting music. Only images/anime under Avex Pictures.

Just received an e-mail regarding that as well. Phew. Looks like those Ayaka DVD, Koda Kumi and SKE48 albums, Kis-My-Ft2 singles, etc. will continue to deliver. But not Yuri!!! on Ice though.

The releases subject to export restrictions are only Avex Pictures, not Avex Trax or Rhythm Zone. I have to suspect...Yuri!!! on Ice is distributed outside of Japan via Funimation and Crunchyroll, right? It seems Avex doesn't want foreign fans buying Japanese copies of Yuri!!! on Ice rather than buying the Funimation-distributed copies...

That said, the ban starts officially at 6pm Japan time. Let's see what happens then...

How is such a huge company managed by such stupid incompetent people? Do they think that by punishing paying international fans that this will stop piracy???

From cdjapan in the Yuri on ice bonus gift description:

We would like to emphasize that this restriction applies only to titles published by Avex Pictures. It DOES NOT apply to any item from any avex trax artist.
So, to clarify which items will be restricted, the following indication will be displayed right on the product page.

I guess time will tell. Japanese versions usually are the most expensive too, so they would be losing money, unless they are trying to control and get a more accurate chart reading from sales. Or its to stop sale taxes, like how Australia is putting a tax on online shopping now

What if I buy for example Yuri on Ice at CDJapan and ship it to tenso(or other middleman). Tenso will send it to me?

The reason behind this is obvious: They signed a contract with oversea distributors and to be sure that both are winner they banned exportation. It's a logic decision as 95% of animes per season are now available via legal platforms, the products are just following the same path.
